The Nevada Spillway is part of the Hoover Dam, situated on the western side of the dam overlooking the Colorado River. Its sister facility is the Arizona Spillway, on the other side of the canyon.

Background[]

This facility forms an integral part of the Hoover Dam, providing the means to control the flow of water from Lake Mead into the river below. It is a concrete-lined open channels about 650 feet long, 150 feet wide, and 170 feet deep on each canyon wall lined with 18 inches of concrete and the floors with 24 inches. Spilling water was directed into the spillway tunnel, exiting into the Colorado river below.[Non-game 1]

The Nevada Spillway appears in Fallout: New Vegas and is labeled on the Hoover Dam map.

The Nevada Spillway is based on the real world location of the same name, located on the western side of the Hoover Dam in the state of Nevada.
