You take my head with ya! So I can see you take that creep down! What'd he ever do for me, huh? Okay, so he created me. Whoop de doo. Who needs a father who sends his kids out to die!— Mob-Bot

Mob-Bot, alternative spelling mobbot, is a fictional robot in the Silver Shroud radio series.

Background[]

The mayor of Boston believed that humanity was weak and should be replaced by his own robot army, subsequently stylizing himself as the Mechanist.[1] This army was comprised of "mobster robots" that were created to do his bidding.[2] The Silver Shroud and Mistress of Mystery fight these robots in the lair of Fat Fahey, where they destroy all but one.[2]

While discussing the fight and their next moves, Shroud realizes that one of the robots is still talking.[2] This robot, Mob-Bot, tells the heroes that although he no longer has legs, he still can share where his creator is hiding.[3] The robot agrees to leak the location under one condition, which is that its head is removed and taken with, so he can watch the downfall of his creator.[3] Mob-Bot explains its bitterness at being created but ignored, and that his brethren are only created to die.[3] Mistress cuts off the robots head with Blade of Bastet and Mob-Bot instructs the crime fighting duo to head to Pier 12 to seek out the Mechanist.[3]

When the Silver Shroud and Mistress of Mystery arrive at the warehouse hideout of the Mechanist, both are captured and bound over a pit of fire.[4] Before they are killed by the villain, the heroes are freed by Mob-Bot, who chews through their bindings.[4] The robot addresses the Mechanist, proclaiming that because they created robotic children but never loved them, the robot would now have its revenge.[4] In response, the Mechanist orders the remainder of the robots under his command to attack, forcing the Shroud and Mistress to fight them by hand.[4]

After the chaos of the fight, the Shroud laments that the Mechanist has escaped.[4] But the Mob-Bot shouts down from the rafters, telling the "Silver do-gooder" that its now their eye in the sky, and that the Mechanist snuck into an office up the stairs.[4] The Mistress of Mystery compliments Mob-Bot, exclaiming, "Well done, heroic...head. Your adjusted attitude has made allies of us all!"[4]
