Mawmaw was a woman living in Appalachia who took refuge in the flooded trainyard.
Background[]
Before the trainyard flooded, she witnessed an event that caused the cars in the area to crash into the levee. She remarked that everything was too damaged to continue living there and had to leave, but would never forget the events of that day.
She continued to remark that she thought she caught the "skin thing" that people had been getting recently, lamenting that she couldn't stop itching.[1]
