Maude, or "Maudy," was the original leader of The Burrows before its takeover by the Burrow Boys prior to 2102.

Background[]

Following the Great War, the stormwater management systems under Harpers Ferry became home to survivors who followed the tradition of squatter communities who inhabited the same tunnels before the War. Under Maude's leadership, the new society of refugees welcomed anyone looking for a new home with open arms, trying to keep old world values of civility alive.[1][2]

This was not to last. Marcus, the son of a former public works employee, betrayed his former "family" and took over the community with his gang, the Burrow Boys, kicking out Maude and many of The Burrows' other residents. Maude was forced to agree that leaving was necessary, as they could not hope to fight and win against Marcus' armed and younger gang. Maude and her group agreed to steal supplies from the gang, then escape into the old sewer tunnels and make further plans from there.[3] Marcus, anticipating such a move, locked down all exits out of The Burrows and reprogrammed the robotic security systems in the sewers to target Maude's group.[2]

Appearances[]

Maude is mentioned only in Fallout 76, introduced in the Wild Appalachia update.
