Background[]
Jarrett took care of new employee Pat Rhodes and assigned him to mechanical maintenance. Although Pat appreciated Jarrett's assistance, as well as the numerous employee benefits and downtime, he easily sped through most of his jobs and became suspicious of the light workload at the company. Jarrett asked CEO Thomas Glen what to do, saying that he would have to make Pat look for "headlight fluid" at the current rate. Jarrett eventually reassured Pat that more shipments were coming and that the company valued employee safety over profits.[1]
