Sergeant J.P. Renkse was a U.S. Army soldier posted at Listening Post Bravo before the Great War.

Background[]

They were assigned to long-range monitoring within the listening post by Captain Rutledge. Due to being isolated inside the bunker for a long period of time, they started to hear strange voices coming from recordings.[1]

Appearances[]

J.P. Renkse is mentioned only in Fallout 4.

Behind the scenes[]

The name of this character is a reference to the Swedish singer Jonas Peter Renkse, from the alternative metal band Katatonia. The initials "D-E-K" heard by Renkse are a reference to the band's 2012 studio album Dead End Kings, their most recent at the time of Fallout 4's release. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, another Bethesda title, also contains references to Katatonia. These references were implemented by quest designer Alan Nanes.[Non-game 1][Non-game 2]
