People told me my theories weren't possible. They mocked me and called me a "foolish old man." Well, I'm here to tell you that the possibility of time travel is not only real, but that it can be accomplished interdimensionally!

Professor Greebly was a scientist of some repute, who aspired to achieve time travel.[Non-game 1]

Background[]

Greebly ardently believed that time travel was possible. Despite being a somewhat reputable scientist, his theories were mocked and derided, and he was called a "foolish old man" by others. However, Greebly claimed that he had revolutionized an interdimensional method of time travel that would allow for skipping across timelines.[Non-game 1][1] He called the use of gravity in time travel experiments "clumsy," and championed his discovery of a way to break through the fabric of reality at a high speed. To accomplish this, he decided to use a monorail car at Pylon V-13 as his "chariot" to travel through dimensions. The remains of his experiment, or some attempt to recreate it, can still be found at the pylon.[1]

Notes[]

  • The spelling of Greebly's name is inconsistent, as the subtitles use "Greebly" while the title of his holotape and the related editor IDs use "Greebley."
  • It is not specified if Greebly was a professor at VTU or elsewhere.

Appearances[]

Professor Greebly is mentioned only in Fallout 76.

Behind the scenes[]

"Greeble" is a real word, pronounced "greeblee."

To test it out, you must climb the pylon the tram is stopped at. Watch your step: the place is rickety!"
