Grace Unger was a ranger who worked with the Monongah Police Department before the Great War.
Background[]
Unger wrote a report concerning sightings of a mutated bear that had been sighted near the town, in the wilderness of Site Alpha. She suspected that this bear had been involved in the mauling deaths of two hikers. The bear, in reality, an escaped animal test subject known as Fluffy, had been sighted near a lake with a shack next to it. Unger interviewed "Jackson" who reportedly lived in the shack, though he refused to tell her anything more than where he had seen the bear.[1]
Unger, unaware that "Jackson" was a second lieutenant in the Army guarding a missile silo, suspected a military background and planned to request a search warrant. Unger was also asked by Dr. Avery about bear sightings in the area, though because he would not explain his motive, she told him nothing.[2]
