Behind the scenes[]
- Gibson is a reference to Hideo Kojima's video game Snatcher, which starred a minor character named Jean-Jack Gibson who is also found decapitated in the same manner in the ruins of a factory. He too has a note upon him reading "Search the house!" In Snatcher there is also a Gibson's house, wherein his daughter Katrina resides, which also contains a small model home. Within the model are various clues.[1]
- Gibson is modeled in a fashion particular to him and only him, likely to make sure that his positioning matches the one in Snatcher: His body is decapitated and ragdolled using Havok, while the head is actually part of a mutilated corpse placed within the floor. Moving it will clearly show that it's not just a head, but a disemboweled torso. Sometimes Gibson may (re)spawn alive, fighting radroaches, or spawn and become beheaded, turning up two heads in one place.
- In the German gore-censored version of Fallout 3, Gibson's corpse is not beheaded. However, the other head is not removed so there are two heads.
