The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) was a pre-War federal agency of the United States responsible for protecting public safety through the regulation of food production and safety, as well as various drugs produced across the nation.

Background[]

The agency was responsible for approving Nuka-Cola Quantum for sale, as it was found to contain only "healthy amounts of radiation",[Non-game 1] causing the drinker's urine to glow for a week, but causing no permanent after-effects.[Non-game 2] Although not mentioned by name, the FDA was also likely the agency responsible for approving water purification systems for Vaults, eg. at Vault 13.[1]
