Icons are written using curly brackets, like {{this}} and have various meanings, usually to explain at a glance what game something is from. To make an icon, you can use a game or icon abbreviation so it looks like {{Icon|FO76}} for or {{Icon|FO2}} for .

Formatting[]

You can format the icons a few different ways, including making them link to articles, not link to anything, change size, or appear in a sentence. Some icons need the {{icon| before it, and some don't. If you are receiving an error message, try the other way. Some common icons can be seen to the right.

Behind the scenes[]

Many articles have a behind the scenes section, which has cut content, cultural references, or information from design documents. We use a behind the scenes template whenever it is necessary to make readers aware of the source outside of a developer source. The template can be placed at the beginning and end of the content in question. We must scrutinize additions to behind the scenes sections especially, making sure it is not the opinion of the editor or a vague potential reference. Real world information can only be added to BTS sections if something shares the exact name or has a supporting developer quote, regardless of the template's use.

Linking[]

Wikipedia links are allowed in the behind the scenes section only, with the exception of articles such as real world voice actors or developers. As far as gameplay articles go, these external links show up as a regular link to those who are reading. They may think "I never knew Fallout referenced this before" and then will be taken away from our site when they did not intend to. We want to keep people on our site.

For editors, seeing a word that is not linked will alert them to the fact that there might be an opportunity to write a new article. We are a Fallout wiki, so what we cover and write about should be Fallout information only, and allowing for a short and concise link to real world information in the behind the scenes section only.

Quotation[]

A template to add quotes to the top of articles, where a character or other source text mentions the topic by name. They can also be used at the top of user pages.
