Fallout Wiki:Template modernisation

The Template modernisation project is a project that aims to modernise wiki templates and implement/test new ones.

Scope[]

This project aims to clean up and optimise old templates, where only fragments of them remain in use and to optimise/implement new templates where appropriate.

Guidelines[]

Each existing template needs to be checked to see:

• Where it is in use.
• What parameters are being used (use of AWB as a scanner is recommended).
• If it can be optimised.

Articles that use standard formatting outside of article layout should look to have elements such as tables and columns converted to templates for maintenance purposes, ensuring long term consistency.

• Create or record potentials and list them in the progress section.

All template changes should be checked and signed off.

• If there is not a second user with experience in the code used (e.g. lua, variables, parser functions) a second user who can complete a sanity check should review and attempt to break the template.
• Sub-templates and modules should be checked off as standalone items first, where appropriate.

The CSS library also needs updating for all classes identified and in use and template documentation needs updating to specify the classes in use.
