Mason was called in by Grafton Steel when their furnace needed repairs. She was morally repulsed by Grafton Steel's disregard for the health of their employees and willingness to destroy the environment surrounding their steel mill. Although she accepted payment for the job, she told them to never contact her again in the future.[1]
