Deidre's mother Claudia recorded two holotapes for her in an attempt to warn her about potential consequences of forming a relationship with a "hippie" that lived next door. Her mother cautioned that rumors may circulate among their social circle.[1][2] Deidre justified and explained her own viewpoints on the matter, ultimately stating that she is capable of making her own decisions, undeterred by gossip.[3][4]
