Despite their differences in societal class, Chelsea and Mary Tinley became good friends. Mary was much poorer, living in a trailer on the edge of town, while Chelsea came from a wealthy family.[1] However, when the girls spent time together, Chelsea started cheating in games because she felt that a girl like Mary could not be allowed to win over someone like her.[2] Mary, knowing this, confronted her and her temper snapped when Chelsea revealed her true feelings, causing Mary to drown Chelsea in a fit of rage.[3]
