Charlie was a business owner in Appalachia.

Background[]

Charlie was the proprietor of Big Papa Moe's Lip Smackin' Sandwich Shack, a food dispensary located across the street from its competitor, Sal's Grinders.

Charlie's shop specialized in cranberry sandwiches of which the cranberries used were trucked in from an undisclosed location in Cranberry Bog. Having moved in across from Sal Jefferson's store, he began offering identical sandwiches, and slowly began to drive Sal out of business ^[1] in which eventually, Sal's employee Grace, who helped start the business, left to work at Papa Moe's with Charlie, as Sal could no longer afford to pay her wages.^[2]

Sal was determined to figure out why Papa Moe's sandwiches were such a hit, and managed to deconstruct the ingredients to determine the root cause of the craze.^[3] Eventually, Sal followed a Papa Moe's delivery truck and discovered that the source of the cranberries was from an irradiated quarry in Cranberry Bog, proving that Papa Moe's was secretly poisoning their customers, in which Sal and the Papa Moe's victims vowed to "let [Charlie] have it."^[4]
