Bertha was a milking cow in Appalachia before 2102.
Background[]
Before the Great War, Bertha was owned by Howie, and was known to constantly escape and enter the courtyard of the Alleghany Asylum, so much that the asylum's gate guard was instructed to call Howie whenever she was sighted.[1]
Bertha survived the War and continued to show up around the asylum afterwards, being sighted by Clara Duran and her group of Watogan refugees multiple times. They made plans to catch her, as the asylum had a dairy and Bertha would allow them to utilize it, and did so in December 2077 when she was trapped by aggressive dogs. It was after this that she gained the name "Bertha," given to her by the refugees. In March 2078, she was killed by a group of raiders who attacked the asylum, along with the refugees' egg-laying chickens. The refugees eventually split up and left the asylum following the attack.[2]
