Our charterer is gen 4
gen 2.5, obviously
“Flesh is flesh, machine is machine. The two were never meant to come together.”
Theses abominations you call synths and their creators should be eradicated from the commonwealth.
Does Nick Valentine count?
Ah, we found another Maxson fanboy.
^ Nick is an early prototype of a Gen 3 so I guess that counts as Gen 2 or 3 depending on how you look at it.
Honestly I prefer the 2.5 model as these models have better personalities and and I really like the rareness of them.
Prosthetics are machines though
And really if you want to get technical, power armor would fall under the dramatic but broad statement as well
^ Which means the Brotherhood are hypocrites for not destroying themselves.
@VaultDweller92-fduser Nick is technically a Gen 2 synth with a prototype brain, whether the brain is Gen 3 or not, there's no real confirmation of that, but we can assume that the Institute did use him and DiMA to advance research that would naturally later be used to create Gen 3s. In that sense, you can also say they are prototype Gen 3s in a time where they were just being realised as more than just a concept.
I'd consider DiMA and Nick Valentine to be outliers to this question, but if you want to put them into a spot on the spectrum, they are between Gen 2 and Gen 3. I see no reason why you can't choose them as your favourite.
In terms of the Brotherhood being hypocrites, I would agree to this on more than just the question of synths and technology. Folks such as @The Dyre Wolf have been around long enough to see me argue tooth and nail in support of some of the Brotherhood's actions and beliefs, but I have also slated them for a number of things. Arthur Maxson is quite literally the worst thing that could happen to the Brotherhood. That's a topic for another thread, and perhaps I'll make one at some point, but the argument that the East Coast Brotherhood uses for declaring war on the Institute, coupled with how they act in their ending, shows that it's got nothing to do with the technology or the abuse of the Commonwealth, and everything to do with power and being the man with the whip.
What do you think?
