I really like the idea of being able to jump into a friend's world or invite them to mine. Even if the guest could not really interact beyond opening doors or flipping redstone switches. Simply being able to show them around your creation without having to build it on a SMP server and risk getting grieffed in one form or another.
So I have been wanting to level a Rogue in WoW for some time now, I figure with Cataclysm out now is the perfect time to level one. I have to come up with a name for him, and naming my characters is one of the most difficult things I do in a MMO. After a bit of thinking for a while, I thought Herobrine would be the perfect name.
I did a armory search and saw that no server has a character named Herobrine. However, when I try to make a character I get a "name is unavailable" error. I have tried the make a character with that name on 10+ servers, all giving me the same error.
I'm wondering, has anyone ever had luck naming their character Herobrine (I would assume no because there are none showing up in the armory)? Would Blizzard have black listed the name for some reason?
OK, that is great you guys were able to get it working by running the server on a different computer, but what about those of us who only have one computer?
I just done know where to begin trying to fix this. I have already tried changing process affinity to put the server and client on different cores. I dont know what else to try.
Having the same problem. After falling for a while I get a few random bits of terrain to generate, I can even punch some sand and after about 20s the block appears in my inventory. Back when I first started playing Minecraft (September time) I was able to host a server on my computer and have myself and 3 other friends playing on it (this was how I convinced them to purchase it).
I really just want to get it set up so I can copy my single player worlds and have friends connect to them so I can show them off.
It's not my decision where addon authors host their stuff just as it's not my decision on what ads minecraftforum.net displays. If the addon author wants to only host their stuff on curses website then that's there choice and anyone that wants to use the addon will have to make a decision on whether they really want the addon or if they can forget about it. Most people are going to take the ads and get the addon.
So then why do you have a problem with the possibility of the Curse Client supporting Minecraft texture packs?
I hope this never happens. As I previously mentioned, Curse allows downloading their addons in one of two ways. You can either jump through hoops passing advertisements on the way to download an addon or you can download their addon downloader. Any other method is forbidden i.e., WUU WoW UI Updater (http://wuu.vagabonds.info/menu.php). On the other hand, I can use any method I choose to download addons from a github or from a code.google project. If somebody hosts their addon on their personal webserver then I can use any downloader I want whether it's firefox, Internet explorer or an automated download utility.
It is not like Curse is forcing addon authors to host the addons on their site. It is just one option. There are plenty of other options. You could upload it to curse as well as hosting it on their website or Google Projects.
Perhaps when he creates the API, Minecraft can be added to the Curse Client. I would support Curse distributing mods that use an officially supported API.
In fact, I would prefer it. Using a forum to manage mods doesn't really work that well. It's difficult to browse them or find the one you want. It would be great if something like that would happen when he creates the API.
In fact - I'd like to see Curse add Minecraft texture pack support right now! I think that would be a great feature, especially since texture packs are officially supported. Support for mods could be added later, but texture packs can be done now. I'd love to be able to browse and preview texture packs in the client or at their site!
Consider it a suggestion :smile.gif:. Minecraft texture packs in the Curse client.
This. I have been playing WoW for 3 years and using the Curse client to manage my addons for the past 2 years. I honestly dont know how I lived without it.
Ok, so after messing around with the texture files it appears that the problem with the watch is related to the HD fix and not this texture pack. I'm going to stick with the SD version for now.
Just one problem. The Mixcraft Original (alternate) folder (which I assume is the standard size textures) only has 2 files (terrain and gui/items). There are no Mixcraft mobs or inventory screens. Should I just assume that the only HD textures that are in the pack are terrain and gui/items and I can just use the versions of the mobs and screens from the HD folder?
Can anyone explain why my watch looks like a pair of diamond shoes?
Wondering the same thing. I am using the HD version + fix. I replaced the HD items.png with the low rez version and now the watch shows up with a pink color where the day/night indicator is supposed to be.
Does anyone know what file has the day/night indicator so I could use the low rez version till the HD fix is updated to support watches.
That's weird... I thought I fixed the watch so it worked with the low resolution version
Do you know what file has the night and day background for the watch? That is the only thing I need to make the watch work correctly.

Why would they have? It is not like it is a official trademark or something.

However...I still think a Creeper would be better at the end.
