ok im not sur eif this hasent been posted yet but I try to do this and the game physics wont work with it
Underwater Volcano's
ok in the real world in like the hawian islands they where formed by lava so maybe there should be underwater volcanos that start forming islands which woudl be cool to lilke go to bed oen day in minecraft then awake the next day to find an island in the middle of the oceean that wasent there yesterday
the physics woudl be like this
stationary island
these volcanos would spawn randomly with like a 5% chance a new volcano vent will form somwhere then will build up and island above water till X amount of hight then it will seal off the lava vent due to th elarge island above it
Moving Islands
these volcano vents will also have a 5% chance to form these will be like stationary islands but after a certain amount of time they will move slowly till there not over the volcano then the volcano will be dormant for a while then it will start to make a new island and repeat
of course to prevent masive chains of islands a new Biom will have to be added into minecraft erosion this will cause islands and stuff to naturally decay so they will eventully become nonexistant though to prevent minecraft from eroding into nothing larger conteinents will just shift materials from one place to the other
and I WANT DEAPER OCEANS AND FATHER LIGHT TRAVEL IN WATER!!! well I coudl just use glowstone instead but then I go down like 10 blocks then its like flat nothing with this added into minecraft there will be a newer branch of exploring we cuodl haev under water caves and all sorts of stuff
Just sayin', Stop. Posting. Ideas. For. Boat. Crafting. The entity system with customization is fine, and can you really carry a submarine in your pocket?
'Is that a boat in your pocket, or are you glad to see me?'
'Actually, it's a submarine.'
Makes no sense.
Can you carry a shovel, pick, axe, hoe, dynamite, and bones in your pocket all at once?
No.
Think before you say.
Dislike: As much as the waves were a good SOUNDING idea, it would completely throw off the fluid mechanics... what would hapen if someone were to remove a block from your ocean... how would it react???
Aside from that the bodies of water NEED NEED NEED to be expanded to the complexity as the ground is.
I would love to see he oceans used and explored more in the world but I think the world itself would need to be made larger or should I say deeper? Otherwise the oceans would seriously eat into the underground mining aspect of the game.
I have found a few places underwater where I have been able to make some ok structures but the lighting does become nearly instantly prohibitive and I feel that is by design. I'll keep my fingers crossed that the oceans become more miner friendly.
dont you think he could run into memory errors if he madkes the game world any bigger then it actually is??? I think the game is allocated 500 MB of memory.. It could become to RAM hungry for lower end systems..
i blieve that his is good except for the deep oceans, what about us with our premade worlds we worked on for months, the tides should go a half block high and none more, the boats should be max 3 deep, i would hate to redesign my dockyards
the boat should be a 3x3 area of wooden planks with a wheel in the center then you should be able to add anything to the boat including floors, stairs, other blocks and most importantly beds freely like you would on land. to drive the boat you would click on the wheel. also make this a mod, that would be awesome.
i voted 'maybe'
sounds nice but the idea of potentially 30-block deep seas, whilst cool, would greatly compress the ores of Minecraft. And whether the ores were compressed or not, deep mining operations could find themselves up the creek and without a paddle when water from the sea pours in.
This is true. The biomes would have to be pretty well separated; perhaps making sure that there's always plenty of sandstone and sand between stone and ocean would keep miners from drowning/flooding their mines. Maybe a unique ocean sound could be implemented, much like the rushing water sound that comes with normal creeks or the hissing noise of lava.
To be fair, there's not a lot of warning before you're about to douse your own face with lava, so smart miners are pretty cautious already, and if you don't take note of the vast ocean next to your mountain before you start digging, that's your problem.
As for ore compression, I can't imagine the ocean would be an ideal place to mine beneath at any rate - but the increased difficulties of getting down to the sea floor and mining it may make up for the relative ease of access to lower layers of stone.

I made it with wood planks. No mods or anything.

I APPROVE!
