Project: G-Witch is a project encompassing all media set in the Ad Stella timeline and all entities featured within it.

Guidelines[]

The "Priorities" Section will contain unmarked spoilers, as will all the individual pages as they are worked on. As always, make sure articles are written in a formal, encyclopedic style, akin to Wikipedia and other fan wikis. Avoid casual and subjective language, and make sure article content is grammatical and stylized appropriately.

Make sure any information listed or details described are sourced whenever possible. We have ongoing issues on the site with unsourced and speculative information, so please ensure that these newer articles do not list inaccurate details or spread rumors.

Characters[]

All character details, personalities, and histories should be written based off what's in the show first and foremost. Guidebooks and the audio dramas follow. Do not base any details on voice actor interviews or discussions, although notes about them can be included in the "Trivia" sections when they discuss aspects of character performance.

In accordance with the current Manual of Style, the personality sections can be written in the present tense while the history sections are written in the past tense. Try to keep the details of the paragraphs as specific to that characters' involvement in events, even if it means omitting some context that they would not know.

Now that the show is over, feel free to add "romantic interests" for characters, but please be reasonable and mature about it. Aim for things that are more direct and acknowledged in the show, at least for the sake of minimizing potential arguments.

Earthian, Spacian, Mercurian, Half-Earthian, and the like will now fall under the new "affinity" tag in the info box, as "nationality" was a bit inaccurate regarding the status of the designation in the show.

Trivia should include factoids directly confirmed to the show or its production as much as possible. "This character is similar to X from Y series" or "fans say," which are very subjective, are therefore discouraged and will be removed.

Sections[]

Here are the broad ways each section of the article should be titled and written:

  • Personality and Character
    • Describe the personality traits of the character. This may require referencing events of specific episodes, but try to stick to their overall personality as much as possible and save greater event details for the History section. This uses the present tense.
  • History
    • Describe the character's history in chronological order in the show's timeline, with subsections for major demarcations. This uses the past tense.
  • Character Relations (Note: Tentative category, subject to change)
    • Describe the characters' relation to others, for both platonic and romantic ones, with subsections for different characters. Restrict this to the most notable dynamics and avoid shipping edit-wars as much as possible. This uses the past tense.

Mecha and Mechanics[]

After the airing of episodes, it is now common for the involved mechanic designers to post about their work on Twitter, sometimes retweeted by the main G-Witch account. The individual acknowledgements can be cited as design credits for mechanics, though for now only official screenshots and design sketches should be included and not fan art from the designers themselves. This may get revisited.

Images[]

Avoid uploading images with watermarks. At the moment, the highest quality images are officially from screencaps of the Crunchyroll stream, so that is the preferred option. These can be replaced later as better sources are available.

Images embedded with the article text are encouraged to make the articles more visually informative. Embedded images are best suited for the History section, preferably one maximum per subsection. Other images are better suited for the gallery.

Twitter Images[]

Images uploaded to the wiki should meet the guidelines of Fair Use and service the articles. Twitter art, like the Ippei Gyobu sketches or Mogumo sketches, is a gray area between official and unofficial and does not add as much to an article's content. Tweets with those, or the "fan art" of the show's mechanical designers showing side mechanics, can be cited to credit them for designs, but uploading the images on article pages is discouraged.

Doujin[]

Images should also be from official sources to the greatest extent possible, so uploading doujinshi/fan works is discouraged. Even in cases where the art is drawn by staff from the show, doujinshi is meant to be lower-profile and not intentionally conflated with or published as official art.

Episodes[]

Appearances and terminology trackers are updated by admins as the episodes air. Summaries are a lower priority at the moment than the other sections but will have more detailed recommendations later.

Dub Differences[]

Any noteworthy changes in the English dub beyond mere phrasing differences can be noted under "dub differences" under an episode's trivia section, rather than under character articles. All information in character articles is based on the sub.

Continuity Notes[]

Continuity notes should denote specific callbacks or details from prior episodes that are not as immediately obvious. This is not meant for all subplots or evolving character motivations, which are better suited for character and event pages.

Events[]

All of the duels and armed conflicts will be categorized using the respective templates. For events that do not fall under either page, they should be included in the History sections of the relevant group for now. For example, the Incubation Party is included under the Benerit Group page as a general event under "Activities", and the one specific to A.S. 122 is on the same page in a subsection under "History".

Priorities[]

All articles are updated as the show continues airing, but many are still stubs that need completing. The full list of characters and mechanics is on the Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury main page. The category page also has lists, but needs updating in some areas. This list highlights the prioritization for tackling the articles.
