The Ultracite Titan is a creature in Appalachia in Fallout 76, introduced in the Nuka-World on Tour update. It is a region boss for the Ash Heap, fought during Event: Seismic Activity.

Background[]

The titan is a towering monstrosity born from exposure to ultracite. A horribly mutated mole rat, the Ultracite Titan became the source of an urban legend in post-War Appalachia. A holotape depicting an encounter with the ultracite titan was found by Jack Woodhouse, a member of the Blood Eagles. However, he dismissed the holotape as a tall tale, not believing that such a creature could exist.^[1] Jack eventually died at the hands of the Ultracite Titan, who resides underground beneath Abandoned mine shaft 2. Pete Myers from Nuka-World on Tour swears he saw the Ultracite Titan emerging over the hills, but he was not sure what it was, and the other members of the traveling carnival were dismissive of his claims. He is hoping someone can prove him right and eliminate a possible threat to the carnival.^[2]

Characteristics[]

The Ultracite Titan will always spawn as a legendary creature. It nullifies the extra effects of Ultracite ammo, and the Hunter's and Zealot's legendary effects. It has a base HP of 30,000.

Behind the scenes[]

• The 3D model for the Ultracite Titan was created by Double Eleven artist Jordan Conlin.^{[Non-game 1]}
• Quest designer Carl McKevitt, who was relaying a quote from other developers, provided background information on the Ultracite Titan not explicitly laid out in-game. According to these developers, mole miners worship the Ultracite Titan to some extent. However, the specifics of their worship, as well as the level of intelligence needed for it, is a "more open ended question." Mole miners worshiping the Ultracite Titan was apparently decided upon early on in development, and is the reason for the presence of unique mole miners wielding Ultracite laser guns at Seismic Activity. The presence of mole miners at Abandoned mine shaft 2 was also a reflection of their devotion to the Ultracite Titan.^{[Non-game 2]}
