Detailed walkthrough[]

This event will appear at the Nuka Launcher coaster, near the Nuka-World on Tour carnival. It is initiated by launching a nuke at the nearby location of Abandoned mine shaft 2, by way of one of the Appalachian Automated Launch System silos at the conclusion of Mission: Countdown.

Before the fight begins, the event requires players to track down and clear 11 ultracite crystals from the roller coaster. As they are bulletproof, they need to be destroyed using melee or unarmed weapons. Once all of them are destroyed, the Ultracite Titan will appear. It is a region boss similar to the scorchbeast queen or Earle Williams.

The first stage of the event takes place over three and a half minutes. During these 3.5 minutes, the participants must do a minimum of 20% damage to the Ultracite Titan. Three more ultracite crystals must be destroyed in order to make the titan vulnerable to attacks. Until the crystals are destroyed, it will not take any damage. The game will give a periodic reminder to destroy the ultracite crystals.

If the participants are successful, the Ultracite Titan will then burrow underground and re-emerge at a second location. During the second phase, the participants must deal another 20% damage and now destroy four ultracite crystals to make it vulnerable. They have the same amount of time to complete the second phase.

The third phase moves the Ultracite Titan again. Follow the same process as before, only this time with five ultracite crystals. Deal at least another 20% damage to the titan in under 3.5 minutes.

During the fourth and final phase, the Ultracite Titan re-emerges at the center of the Nuka-Launcher coaster itself. Destroy six more ultracite crystals to open the titan up to attacks, then use the remaining event time to finally put down the monstrous creature. Once the titan is dead, the event completes and rewards are given.

An added hazard is the fact that local wildlife including mole rats known as Ultramites and mole miners equipped with Ultracite laser rifles will also attack during the event. The ground around the coaster is also unstable and affected by earthquakes near constantly. If at any point, an individual phase of the event is not completed, the titan will go back underground and the event will fail.

Behind the scenes[]

During early testing in the Public Test Server, this event had the basic quest icon/animation of a Vault Boy thumbs-up. It was later replaced with a unique icon/animation.

Bugs[]

PCPC Xbox OneXbox One Playstation 4Playstation 4 Sometimes nuking Abandoned mine shaft 2 will not trigger the event. This seems to be a server issue, since using multiple nukes on the mine shaft will not start the event.[verified]
