Do not buy a bike from this company

Do not buy a bike from this company. We purchased a bike for my son for Christmas and he rode it until he broke his leg 2/3/24. He was not cleared to ride the bike until May where the bike remained in the shed. When my son started riding the bike again the right pedal fell off and it seems he may have stripped it trying to put it back on but because they did not assemble the bike they said it was our issue. A few weeks later we took a look at the bike to see what we could do and the tire fell off. We were told to bring it to our local bike shop. After $400 and my son only riding this bike for a little over a month we should not be responsible for this. This company does not stand behind their product. I’ve seen many many people having these same issues with the bike. Also whe. We received this bike it did arrive with a few scratches but I did not report this because it was a Christmas gift and I wanted my son to have it. If you do decide to buy a bike from here and you see any flaws please report it immediately. Other wise buy from your local bike shop City Grounds will send you there anyway to fix their faulty products.

The delivery has to be signed for I get…

The delivery has to be signed for I get it. They we a day late . Then their pedal broke and said it was our fault with in a week of riding. The bike didn't come with directions to assemble. Not a good company they don't stand behind there product. Trash California bull $hit!!

I ordered a SE Bikes Big Ripper HD 29"…

I ordered a SE Bikes Big Ripper HD 29" BMX Bike
High Def Green / 29" for my son's graduation gift; The City Grounds experience was a magic carpet ride: the bike was accurately described, priced fairly, and payment and shipping were efficient. UPS tracking was on time and arrived undamaged. I had an early question for them, they answered the phone and were polite, attentive, and not dismissive. Thank you!

Buyer Beware!

Ordered a bike online. Buyer beware, they will try and deliver it during the work week. You won't have any options but to be home to sign for it because the bike company requires signature. Then they ship it back and charge you for shipping. I called the shipping company per instructions and there were no options. I call City Bikes and they said they were going to charge me and wouldnt offer any other options. I can't imagine I'm the first person with this issue.

Friend’s told me about City Grounds

Friend’s told me about City Grounds. I actually purchased my first bike here on my first mob ride with a borrowed bike from one of them! Was pretty fun purchase and also made everyone in our party get a good kick and laugh out of it.

City Grounds delivered pretty quickly, and what was also pretty cool about the delivery is that my bike wasn’t just left there without it being handed off to another person. Delivery guy came back the next day, thank y’all for that, greatly appreciated.

Love the deal

Love the deal, the bike and overall experience from ordering to the convenience of being able to pick it up!

Only complaint was that cranks didn’t get enough grease and it’s a creaking nightmare lol

The shipment was unbelievably fast &…

The shipment was unbelievably fast & the bikes were absolutely perfect. We have actually ordered both an 18” & 16” bike for our son & could not be happier with our purchases. City grounds actually had the best price & fastest shipping than several other vendors we looked into. City Grounds also was the only place we could find a 16” BMX bike that did not have a coaster brake. We have gotten compliments on his bike & would recommend City Grounds to anyone! Premium product, fast delivery!

they dont stand behind their product

they dont stand behind their product
left crank on my sons bike lost its thread after 2 month and they blamed me not assembling bike correctly. sorry folks i owned bikes for 40 years and i have Diamondback, Cannondale, Giant bikes and i never had this issues - quality of the material is awful. be aware these bikes looks cheal and there is a reason for that.

Great Bikes and Fantastic Service

City Grounds has been fantastic to deal with. Before ordering my new bicycle, I contacted them, and all my questions were answered immediately. When I placed the order the bike was out the door and in my hands in Washington DC in no time. Since my original purchase, I have ordered through their website three more times and everything always shows up on time and in perfect condition.

City Grounds Fan but things have been slipping as of late...

I have been ordering from CityGrounds for my BMX and hybrid bike needs for the last few years. I have really liked their selection, fast shipping and their eewards programs. However, the following has been disappointing as of late:

- Very limited selection of bike components and many items sold out.
- Increased pricing across the board - seems to be about 15% on average.
- Reduced catalog options to redeem rewards points.
- Fewer items eligible for a rewards member dicount.

I still give City Grounds 4 stars but would have given them 5 stars a year ago.

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, due to pandemic, our inventory availability had decreased. Also, due to compromised logistics, our distributors have raised our prices as well.
We are optimistic, as our product availability increases, we will always do our best to keep prices as low as possible.

Great bike.

The bike came well packaged. Assembly was very easy. We found out that the front tire was not keeping the air pressure. Upon calling the City Grounds, Rosa the service associate, was able to assist me effectively, approving my suggestion that a local bike shop can provide the required service and City Ground reimburse the invoice, which they did without a delay. Days earlier I was attempting to get the remedy Via email, however, Javier who answered my email was making the story so complicated. Thanks for Rosa.

A personal touch goes a long way!

What a great personalized experience we received from the City Grounds staff. They assembled our bikes to our requests and were so KIND to charge my wife's bike because they knew how much it meant for her to immediately ride her Birthday 🎂 gift!!!

pros and cons, overall good

pros: support team worked with me to resend my bike when delivery failed, easy to use site, fast delivery

cons: really hard to get in touch with support (only by email and took a few days to hear back), I was not warned about delivery failure and could have EASILY avoided the situation if I had known. PLEASE make it clear to other customers so they can be prepared for delivery

Great website for anything BMX and…

Great website for anything BMX and cycling. Big variety of bicycle and parts, accessories. Quick delivery when I put my order plus sign up for mailing list and you get a discount on many parts of your order. The only thing that is bad is that parts and bicycle's often sell out. Just keep checking and I'm sure you will find what you need.

The price for the GT 29’er Performer…

The price for the GT 29’er Performer was the lowest I have seen for sure... Then City Grounds did free shipping.. which was absolutely amazing... I am very happy with City Grounds ... their communication and deliver of the bike were A++++++ If they do free shipping again on GT 29’ers I will definitely step up and buy another one.

Good customer service

Don't remember his name, but I appreciated that the guy working there took the time to walk me thru the use of my new electric bike and answered all my newbie questions; even though the pick up location is basically just their shipping warehouse, not a proper bike shop.

Also, they are prompt in answering the phone or replying to email questions.

City Grounds gets a double 5-star…

City Grounds gets a double 5-star rating from us! We were searching all over for a Cannondale Ladies Mountain bike near our area for weeks. No one had good inventory at our shops. I found the very one I wanted at City Grounds online. I immediately contacted their customer service and conversed back and forth with "Rosa" She was very professional and responsive with every question asked. We ordered one immediately and my bike came in less than a week. Its amazing! I love everything about it! Thank you City Grounds! I will be telling everyone about the professional service I received from ordering to receipt of my Cannondale! Thanks again Rosa!
