For someone managing a group, it can be a hassle to have to check your group page often to see if anything happened, the same whether anything did or didn't occur since their last check. It's also tricky for people interacting with a group and its features, when those who put it there don't notice if not checking every so often. A simple and intuitive solution to this is to notify the admins of the group or those who posted whatever is getting interacted with, just like on a member's own profile. If I posted a wall post through a group, it would be the same as our current notifications. "[username] liked/updooted your wall post on [group name]!", "[username] made a comment on your [group name] wallpost!", "[username] shared [group name]'s post as a wall post on their own wall!" are just a few examples of the different formats possible for different actions. For content posted, it would be the same. "[username] gave you a diamond for / favorited [name of content] [type of content]! Comments on these woudl go straight to your regular comments section (if it doesn't already). For admins of a group, they would get notifications for guest book posts, follows, modifications of the group page by other members, and posts to the group. "[username] made a guest book post to [group name]'s guest book!/.", or "[username] posted a [type of content], [name of content] to/for [group name]!" exemplify what this would look like. I think this would benefit everyone it affects, and I've heard several people voice that they'd appreciate this before. I understand that modifying this to work would take a lot, but as a feature it fits the site, and would be really helpful, thanks!
Yeah, that would be super helpful. Guest posts for requesting to join a group is honestly one of my biggest issues with groups and that would be a super helpful feature!
