VICE TV has announced a new unscripted basketball docuseries produced with UNINTERRUPTED, the athlete storytelling brand founded by LeBron James‘ and Maverick Carter’s The SpringHill Company, and MY ENTERTAINMENT LLC. The eight-episode series, titled “UNINTERRUPTED: The Real Stories of Basketball,” explores iconic moments, players and stories from inside basketball through firsthand accounts from pro hall of famers. “As a lifelong student of the game and all of its iconic history and culture, I’m excited about this series that relives some of basketball’s biggest moments and the stories behind them for a whole new generation to experience,” James said in a statement. Music and queerness are intricately connected. Whether in a big city or small town, queer artists and fans of all ages have always used music and dancing as a tool to express themselves. In this "VICE News Special Report," we’ve enlisted Big Freedia, the larger-than-life ambassador of New Orleans Bounce music, to examine queer artists and the spaces they occupy. The documentary shows how music venues and dance floors can be the heart of queer communities, and how integral they are in giving queer people space to find themselves. This hour-long doc made in partnership with The Absolut Company focuses on the lives of three musicians redefining their genres, featuring Chris Housman, MK xyz, and Archangel. Each of these stories provide an intimate look at how music-making is a vehicle for queer people to find their sense of self. "Out Loud" is a celebration of the broad spectrum of what it means to be queer in music — and what can happen when spaces open their doors and their hearts to queer artists.
