It's NZ data however I expect equally relevant for AU. Unfortunately, not surprising. 'Employee of the Year' ... 'Who?? What did they do?' 'Annual Bonus' ... 'Gee, that's a nice surprise' or worse 'How come that person gets the same as me, when I've carried the team?' Done well, employee recognition & reward programs are incredibly powerful in growing engagement and productivity. Done poorly - they can have a negative impact, not neutral.
