Job Overview:
Ethique is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Global Consumer Engagement to lead our global efforts in influencer management, public relations, partnerships, organic social media, and community building. Reporting directly to the VP of Marketing, this senior role requires a deep understanding of the beauty industry, coupled with proven expertise in driving consumer engagement and amplifying brand storytelling. The ideal candidate will have a track record of success in beauty marketing, influencer management, social, and PR, with a keen ability to deliver results against KPIs.
Location: remote (NYC or California preferred)
Salary: $120,000 - $145,000 + benefits
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive engagement strategies to drive brand awareness, foster brand advocacy, and increase community engagement across all channels, with a particular focus on beauty industry nuances.
- Manage global team covering US, Canada, UK, New Zealand and Australia markets, including two earned media managers, social media manager and community coordinator.
- Lead influencer marketing initiatives, including identifying, cultivating, and managing relationships with paid influencers and overseeing an extensive seeding program to drive product awareness and trial.
- Manage PR agencies and oversee media relations, including media events, press releases, editorial partnerships, and editorial affiliate to secure coverage and elevate Ethique's presence in relevant media outlets.
- Drive forward-thinking press and influencer events to generate buzz and amplify brand storytelling, managing budgets effectively to ensure maximum impact and ROI.
- Cultivate strategic partnerships with brands and organizations aligned with Ethique's values and objectives, focusing on both brand partnerships and impact partnerships that drive positive change.
- Act as an editorial lead, conceptualizing and curating compelling content themes and narratives that resonate with our audience and reinforce Ethique's brand positioning in the beauty industry.
- Guide and support owned social/content calendar messaging, ensuring alignment with brand objectives and maintaining a consistent brand voice and aesthetic.
- Conduct competitive analysis and trend reporting to inform strategy and optimize engagement initiatives, staying abreast of industry trends and emerging platforms.
- Oversee strategy and management of our Creator Community, fostering relationships and empowering creators to generate authentic user-generated content (UGC) for the brand.
- Utilize tools such as Tribe Dynamics, Dash Hudson, etc., to track and analyze engagement metrics, feedback, and trends, providing ongoing insights and optimization strategies to prove results qualitatively and quantitatively against board-aligned KPIs. Deliver monthly and quarterly dashboards to internal stakeholders and board of directors.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of related experience in a global capacity.
- Several years of successfully managing and coaching multiple direct reports.
- Experience working in smaller, entrepreneurial environments + scaling processes for growth
- Proven track record of success in beauty marketing, influencer management, and public relations, with a strong network of industry contacts and influencers.
- Extensive experience managing PR agencies and executing media events, with a deep understanding of beauty industry media landscape and trends.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly organized with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage budgets effectively, ensuring maximum impact and ROI.
- Proficiency in social media management tools, analytics platforms, and content management systems.
- Passionate about sustainability and environmental stewardship, with a commitment to driving positive change through purpose-driven initiatives.
