Dementia care for seniors, ready when you are

About us

Rippl is a new kind of mental health company focused on seniors and obsessed with its clinicians. Seniors with mental health challenges, especially neurocognitive conditions like Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, are overlooked and under cared for, often without access to high quality, real-time, practical care. Leveraging a value-based approach, disruptive technology, and a relentless focus on empowering and enabling its clinicians, Rippl is pioneering a new care model to dramatically expand access to high quality, wraparound mental health care for seniors, their families, and caregivers. Rippl provides 24/7 support and personalized care when and where they need it. Founded by a group of impatient optimists and doers from the country’s most iconic health care and consumer brands (who have all been caregivers themselves), and backed by visionary venture investors ARCH Venture Partners, General Catalyst, GV, F-Prime Capital and Mass General Brigham, Rippl is ready to take this urgent challenge head on. Our seniors deserve so much better. Join our movement at ripplcare.com.

Exciting news from the Alzheimer’s Association and Rippl! We're thrilled to announce our new partnership aimed at revolutionizing access to high-quality dementia care nationwide. The Dementia Care Navigation Service is a game-changer, combining Rippl’s on-demand dementia care model with the Alzheimer’s Association’s extensive resources. We're bridging the gap in dementia care, providing essential support to individuals and caregivers across the country.  The Dementia Care Navigation Service is part of the eight-year pilot program Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience (GUIDE) Model. Leveraging our expertise and innovative services, we're set to transform dementia care, offering comprehensive support to those in need. Nearly 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s, a number expected to nearly double by 2050. According to our 2024 Alzheimer’s Disease Facts and Figures report, 60% of health care workers feel the system doesn't effectively support dementia care. Additionally, 70% of caregivers find care coordination stressful; two in three struggle to access support. Our goal is to change that. Through this partnership, people living with Alzheimer’s or another dementia and their caregivers gain access to 24/7 care coordination, medication management and critical support resources, ensuring every aspect of the dementia journey is addressed. Our goal is not just about providing care, it's about empowering individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias. With Rippl’s innovative care model and the Alzheimer’s Association’s commitment to health equity, we're working towards a future where everyone has access to the care they deserve. Join us on this journey to make a difference! Here's how you can support our mission: - Share this post to spread awareness and encourage others to get involved. - Consider making a donation to help fund critical research and support programs. Together, we can shape a better future for all individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

#dementia is a healthcare crisis and the US needs an "all of the above" approach to addressing it. As we strive for a world without Alzheimer's and other dementias, advancements in therapeutics like #donanemab are heartening. We need innovations in both the care and the cure. Team Rippl wakes up every day determined to transform the "care" side of that equation to improve the lives of the millions #LIVINGwithDementia (and their caregivers!). #createarippl

I had the pleasure of spending time with my 96-year-old aunt this past week, as I gave much-needed respite to my cousin who has been an informal caregiver to her mom for 7 years.  My cousin never imagined that she’d be providing this much life to her mother.  Putting her own life and needs on hold to keep her mother’s life as comfortable and familiar as possible. Allowing my cousin to have some time is a nice feeling, but it also gives me a chance to slow down, have a change of scenery, and observe the situation for some helpful feedback to my cousin who often feels unsupported, anxious, and lonely.   This is my second respite stay here in sunny California.  Giving respite is not hard, my aunt is still engageable.  She and I weren’t particularly close when I was growing up, but I know her story and who she is and that is enough.  My presence is more companion care and assistance, but nothing super clinical.  She looks forward to my visit and we get to break the rules together.  There are 53 million informal caregivers in the US.  These are family members who provide life to those who need assistance. Formal care is expensive and out of sight for many.  Medicaid can be a lengthy process and depletes generational wealth for those who have savings and assets with the idea of passing this along. If you are single like me, (or need a break from your spouse, partner, or kids) and can’t afford a lavish vacation somewhere, but you need a change of pace, some added sunshine maybe, mix life up a bit.  (And yes, I am still in my PJ at 11 am in this photo).   I challenge you to get out of your comfort zone reach out to someone you know and offer the gift of time.  For an afternoon, a day, a weekend.   Caregiving is not rocket science.  If you can be a friend and can listen, you can be a caregiver.  Getting out of your comfort zone helps you live longer, and wards off dementia.  Still skeptical about your ability to help?  Start by telling caregivers SPECIFICALLY how you can help.  The last thing a caregiver wants to hear is “Let me know if I can help you.”  Instead offer how you can help, time, errands, yard work, and a meal together.  “I can mow your lawn on Sunday?”  “I’m headed to Safeway, would you like me to pick up a prepped meal for you and ___?”  “I notice your daughter comes by on Thursday afternoons, would you be able to get away for lunch with me?  Be specific when you offer help.  #caregivers #patience, #silentgeneration.

A timely perspective on the diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease in primary care setting. Claire Erickson and Nathaniel Chin lay out a scenario seen *daily* in primary care clinics; they discuss the barriers to dementia care today; and how alternative payment models like GUIDE may be an avenue to the solutions we need. They also lay out the critical role of #caregivers in supporting people living with dementia, and why caregivers need support from care navigators. At Rippl, we couldn't agree more, which is why we are building the leading national dementia care platform to tackle this problem head on. #LIVINGwithdementia #aboutdamntime Check out their article in the New England Journal of Medicine NEJM Group, https://lnkd.in/gb-pDb5U Kris Engskov, Jamie Sharp

Another important and thoughtful story from Ansberry Clare @ the The Wall Street Journal shining a light on the deep challenges #familycaregivers face. “My work doesn’t stop,” says Kim Moser, who manages a research lab at the University of Oklahoma while also caring for her 83-year-old mother-in-law. “There is no off switch.” The data behind these stories is eye-opening ! 😱 According to the Alzheimer's Association® Facts & Figures report: 🧠 over half of caregivers are providing assistance to a parent or in-law with #dementia 👩💼 approximately two-thirds of dementia caregivers are women 🆘 74% of caregivers of people with Alzheimer’s or other dementias reported that they were “somewhat concerned” to “very concerned” about maintaining their own health since becoming a caregiver 😩 7 in 10 caregivers report that coordinating care is stressful. 💻 66% also have difficulty finding resources and support for their needs This is #whywerippl. People #LIVINGwithDementia and their caregivers deserve ongoing dementia specialty care and support. https://lnkd.in/gZevpYuT
