Technology solutions and the resilience of the technology manufacturing supply chain enable the U.S. government to deliver superior services to its citizens and employees. When governments select the right tools, they will improve those services and strengthen democratic processes. ITI advocates for policymakers to make strategic investments to support the modernization of federal IT infrastructure, including enhanced cybersecurity. ITI also supports increased competition and innovation within the government procurement process. Government procurement policy should be enhanced to prioritize laws, regulations, policies and programs that streamline the acquisition of commercial items, commercially available off-the-shelf products (COTS) and “as a service” (aaS)” offerings to maximize competition and improve governmental mission delivery.
