WASHINGTON – Today, global tech trade association ITI released several policy actions that the U.S. Congress and Biden Administration can advance this year to ensure the United States remains a global leader in technology and innovation.

ITI’s 2024 Tech Issues in Focus highlights AI, federal privacy, cybersecurity, supply chains, data flows, research and development tax incentives, climate change mitigation, and other opportunities for U.S. leadership.

“AI is the latest example of how technology continues to play a critical role in the U.S. economy and Americans’ quality of life. Technology will push forward cutting-edge research and development and advanced manufacturing, and provide pathways to solve major challenges like climate change. Even with the looming election, this year must be one of action given all that is at stake for the U.S. tech leadership,” said ITI President and CEO Jason Oxman.

ITI’s 2024 Tech Issues in Focus includes calls to:

  • Accelerate the development and adoption of responsible AI solutions;

  • Create a globally competitive tax system;

  • Bolster cybersecurity;

  • Secure supply chains and protect national security;

  • Pass a uniform federal privacy standard;

  • Promote the flow of data across borders; and

  • Advance solutions to climate change.
