The fourteenth season of the American animated television series SpongeBob SquarePants, created by former marine biologist and animator Stephen Hillenburg, was announced on March 24, 2022 during Nickelodeon's upfront of the same year.[1][2] It has been confirmed that this season will consist of 26 half-hour episodes. This season premiered on November 2, 2023 with "Single-Celled Defense," and so far more episodes are to be aired.
Production[]
This season is known to have been in production as early as November 2022.[3] At that time, things for the 25th anniversary and "Squidiot Box" were being developed.
On August 3, 2023, Leo Laifa confirmed that they have officially joined the series' crew as a storyboard artist on that day, likely providing work on this season.[4]
On November 28, 2023, Nick Lauer confirmed that he had returned to the series to help out with storyboards.[5]
On December 7, 2023, Kamp Koral supervising director Brandon Warren posted a video on Instagram featuring various sketches of SpongeBob characters, saying he had "been brushing up and learning the intricacies of drawing [them] correctly."[6] Considering the former show has since concluded production,[7] and Warren never officially stated that he had left the show or Nickelodeon Animation Studio, it is possible that he transitioned on work from the spin-off to the main series.

- This season will bring the number of episodes up to 319, being the first show in Nickelodeon history to surpass the 300-episode milestone.[40]
- "Squidiot Box," "Blood is Thicker Than Grease," "PL-1413," "In the Mood to Feud," "Mooned!," "Hysterical History," and "Kreepaway Kamp" serve as the 25th anniversary special episodes.[41][42]
- However, "Squidiot Box" and "Blood is Thicker Than Grease" seem to serve as standalone episodes.
- This is the first season for multiple things:
- The first season since season 4 to premiere after the previous season ended.
- The first season of the main show in which SpongeBob does not appear in all episodes, starting with "BassWard."
- The first season since season 2 to have episodes premiere on the Nicktoons channel.
- The first season to have at least one unannounced and one accidental premiere.
- This season will contain the 600th episode segment of the series, that being "Firehouse Bob."
