Special Edition Collector Booster

In addition to its June 23 release, The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth featured a Holiday Release on November 3, 2023.

Description[ | ]

Gollum Obsessed Stalker Scroll frame

Example of Scroll frame

The Holiday Release features four additional Scene Boxes that show off more iconic moments from The Lord of the Rings, Jumpstart, Volume 2 and a Special Edition of Collector Boosters with special alternate art, an alternate "Scroll" card frame and a new type of foil treatment.[2][3] The Scene Boxes each contain 6 borderless scene cards, 3 Set Boosters, 6 Art cards and a paper display easel. Special Edition Collector Boosters do not contain Serialized Ring cards.

While the set is a separate release it remains part of The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth Commander decks, using the same expansion symbol () and set code (LTC).

The Holiday release features 24 mechanically unique cards among the scene cards (LTC #491-514).[4] Twenty new borderless reprints with art of the Brothers Hildebrandt can exclusively be found in the Special Edition Collector Boosters (LTC #515-534). Another 20 borderless cards (LTR #731-750) have a 60's Rock Poster Showcase card treatment, and each of the 20 also has an x/100 serialized version. The entire LTR set and Rares and Mythics from LTC are also available in the "Scroll" card frame (LTR #452-730, LTC #411-490).

Each Special Edition Collector Booster contains a surge foil extended-art rare or mythic rare. In addition, there are double-rainbow foil serialized versions of each Realms and Relics Box Topper. With 100 serialized versions of each card, they're incredibly rare.[2]
