J'ai passé 1 an avec SmashMobile je ne peux que les recommander. Ils ont été super, un service client hors du commun, des solutions pour les aléas que j'ai pu rencontrer avec mon téléphone.
Comparer aux forfaits japonais qui coûtent une fortune et où il faut s'engager pendant au moins 2 ans Smash Mobile ne demande aucun engagement et est bien en dessous des prix avec pour couronner le tout passer par la meilleure ligne japonaise (NTT Docomo).
Vous ne serez pas dessus !

Great prompt service. We used Smash mobile for about 6 months as a data sim during our stay in Japan. Customer service is great and fluent english making things a lot easier and very little paper work hassle compared to other providers.

I ordered my SIM card back in January for a trip in April. We paid an extra ¥900 for international shipping as I didn't want to loose time at the airport. Unfortunately, we never received the SIM card... I contacted their support through various channels (form on their website, email address) to request my money back... no answer so far.

UPDATE: After few days (and potentially this review), Smash Mobile customer support came back to me and issued a full refund. I update my review from one star to three stars as I would have prefered to get my original order.

I am really happy about the service !
I ordered my SIM card, and I received it in my mail box only a few days later, with a paper explaining the steps to install it (very easy).
Also the customer service is really efficient, they reply very quickly to any question in English or French, so I definitively recommend Smash Mobile.

used the pocket wifi for my 2-week trip to Japan after winning their Facebook competition. Communication was great and pick up and drop off were seamless. The device worked well throughout the trip. Can only recommend using Smash!

An outstanding company, as they do precisely what they claim to do with no extra junk, no bloated nonsense, no unnecessary contractual obligations, no wasteful paperwork.

Their customer flow chart must look something like this:

Does the customer need a working SIM in Japan? If yes, give them a working SIM card in exchange for money. Finish.

It couldn't have been simpler, and their service has been excellent since day one. Great coverage, good speeds and friendly, personalized (English) customer service.

My wife and I couldnt have survived this trip without the Smash Mobile SIM. Well worth the money. Coverage was great. Customer service is fantastic. If you have an unlocked phone, I definitely recommend using the SIM over portable wifi!

Being our first trip to Japan, we were worried about being able to get internet while we were there. Smash Mobile made everything super easy! Communication was fast and easy. The WiFi was sent to me at the airport with easy pick-up. We traveled from Hiroshima to Tokyo with many stops in between over a 2 week period. Our signal never dropped. I cannot recommend them enough! Thank you!

Easy ordering process and delivered to my home address in plenty of time before I flew out. The setup instructions could have been little more detailed as the instructions did not reflect the android version I had but I figured it out. Flawless connection whilst out in Japan, no reception issues in the 8 cities invisited. Definitely recommend this SIM card for hassle free travel.

Found better data caps for cheaper after my purchase.

Would have liked an email warning of approaching data cap (ex: 1GB or 500MB remaining) with a link allowing me to purchase extra data space.

Everything worked perfectly. Pick up was easy, setup was fine and signal was generally good. We travelled to tokyo, yokohama, kyoto and osaka without problems. We put the hub in my wife's rucksack (now called Wifify) and used maps etc. We didn't use the 1gb per day high speed allowance.

I was very happy with Smash! We got our SIM card delivered to the airport a bit at the last second, but when we arrived everything was fine and the SIM card was there.The only improvement I could think of is an email notifying me when the SIM card arrives at the airport, plus the number needed for the post office. Right now, this info could be found under the tracking information, but we had to search for it for a while.
6 GB turned out to be more than enough for our three week trip. We ran Google maps everyday and used the phone as a Wi-Fi hotspot, but we still couldn't use up all the data. Smash offers a SIM for much cheaper than other companies, so I would wholeheartedly recommend!

So, this all happened due to/around the coronavirus outbreak, so other experiancess could vary.

We bought our sim cards 2 months before our trip was due but by time we were set to go we still had not received our sim cards or an email to say they were dispatched. We weren't too worried about this as when contacted smash mobile said we could collect them from our destination airport.

However, when airlines cancelled planes due to Covid-19 we unfortunately had to cancel our whole trip. This led to us contacting several different people requesting refunds. Smash mobile being one of them. I repeatedly emailed, messaged them on their Facebook account and even sent a request through their enquiry page online and they never got back to us. So amidst everything else we lost out on after having to cancel a trip I had saved up for 2 years for, £90 to smash mobile was one of them.

Very good experience with Smash mobile ! I subscribed to a mobile plan for my one-year working holiday visa in Japan. It provided me with a real japanese phone number (essential for your administrative procedures in the country), good internet connection (very fast and with enough data) for a reasonable price. It was perfect for me and helped me a lot since the other mobile plans in Japan are really expensive and difficult to subscribe to when you're a foreigner. The customer service speak english and is really nice and reactive. It was also easy to cancel online once I got back from Japan, since you don't have any contract or cancellation fees. I would recommend it to anyone who need a mobile plan in Japan !

I think you are new, I had like 5 trips in Japan and I didn't find any mobile plan like yours.

I found Smash when searching for a SIM a couple of weeks before my holiday. I had heard nothing about Smash - all I could find were common competitors. However their deal couldn't be beaten. I chose the amount of days and data I wanted rather than being offered set for 7 or 14 days - which was amazing for my awkward 19 day holiday. So we took a chance and it was the best decision we made. Great service. Customer service was brilliant and I had no problems when I used it - data plans were very flexible and signal was great making for a stress free holiday. Airport pickup was really convenient and it was very affordable - saving me money as well as getting a better package. It's very cheap against Mobal and Sakura and had a friendly team behind it to make it a pleasant experience. Will definitely recommend to friends and use again next year when I return! Thanks Smash!

Best service I received from these guys! When my flight was delayed and I could not pickup my sim from the post office before they close in terminal 2 (which was already there waiting for my pickup), I managed to inform them and they ensured there was a sim for me to pickup at my hotel! Thank you Smash Mobile - you are smashing it! :-)
