Hi Mb,
We are sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with our service.
We tried to identify the specific case in response to your review, but were unable to do so as you did not provide the necessary information.
However, for those who read 8mart reviews on Trustpilot, we would like to use this reply to explain the basic philosophy of our service.
We aim to provide services that satisfy our customers with the motto "safe, easy, and fast". Of course, we have never been involved in any scam activity since the start of our service. In order to provide smooth and fast service, we ask all customers to request only the products they really want to purchase. Of course, you may change your mind after making an item request, so there is no problem if you skip the purchase within the range of common sense.
For Mercari items, which make up for the majority of orders on 8mart, you can search for products yourself, add them to your cart, and place an order directly through the Mercari Marketplace on 8mart, without having to submit an item request.
In addition, for the convenience of our customers, we accept bids on auction items such as Yahoo! Auctions, and to save both parties the hassle of bidding, we ask customers for their maximum bid amount. If there is a difference between the bid amount and the winning bid amount, we will refund the difference.
Most customers bid a reasonable amount given the market price, but due to the nature of auctions, there may be times when they are unable to win the bid. In that case, we will give you a full refund.
For some customers, the concept of maximum bid amount that we ask for may be different. For example, there is a case where the customer bid ¥5,000 for an item that starts at ¥1 and has a buy-it-now price of ¥50,000, but someone else won the auction for ¥30,000. Of course, even if not all cases are as extreme as the above, there is no problem if the same customer fails to win the bid 2-3 times in a row. But, the situation is different even if the customer bids 5 or 10 times, he or she will not be able to win even once. If this continues, not only will we not be able to earn a single yen since we do not charge bid participation fees, but it will also affect our ability to provide prompt service to other customers.
Therefore, we ask such customers to bid at an amount that has a high probability of winning. If he or she still does not win after this request, we will only accept bids at the buy-now price.
It is not our intention to take this kind of action against some of our customers, but we hope you will understand that we are doing this in order to provide prompt service to our customers.
We will share your review internally and strive to provide better service in the future.
Thank you for your understanding,
The 8mart Team
