Trash cans are workshop and world objects in Fallout 76.
Background[]
Pre-War trash cans are found in different variants throughout Appalachia, generally along or near buildings.
Characteristics[]
The most common model is made of metal, painted green, with chrome side plates and a sliding handled lid to the front. The word "trash" in faded lettering is written above. As with most post-War items they are worn and rusty, though the lid still functions and will slide forward when opened.
Another common version, referred to as "HighTech", is made of orange colored metal and slightly resembles a rocket. It has a black metal lid, that has the word "trash" on it. This trash can can either be clean or dirty, with dirty being found way more often.
A third variant, found exclusively throughout rooms and hallways inside the Whitespring Resort, as well as on the premises outside, these are black, with an elongated lid held aloft. It has gold detailing and a black trash bag tucked within.
All of these are containers, as such they can be interacted with and will contain randomized minor loot, except for the craftable ones.
Crafting[]
The craftable containers allow for accessing one's stash.
