The Platters are an American vocal group founded by Herb Reed in 1952. Their 1955 song "Only You" is featured in the Fallout TV series episode "The Radio".
The original lineup consisted of Cornell Gunter, Alex Hodge, Herb Reed, Curtis Williams, and Joe Jefferson. The most famous incarnation, which performed the song featured in Fallout, was the 1955-1959 lineup with Tony Williams as lead singer, Herb Reed, David Lynch, Paul Robi, and Zola Taylor.
After 1969, over the years several groups with various level of connection to the original band have claimed to be the real continuation of The Platters. In 2011, the band's founder Herb Reed obtained judgments confirming his exclusive rights to the name. After Reed's death in 2012, The Platters continue to perform with new members under Herb Reed Enterprises LLC.
