Fallout 76 is the latest game in the Fallout series published by Bethesda Softworks. It is the sixth major installment in the Fallout series and ninth overall. Fallout 76 is a multiplayer game.
The story is set in Appalachia, comprised of the former state of West Virginia, between 2102-2104. The player takes the role of a dweller from Vault 76 as they attempt to reunite with their missing overseer. On their journey, the dweller discovers how Appalachia has been devastated by the fallout, and crosses paths with different factions with conflicting ideals on how to revitalize or conquer Appalachia.
