I heard that wearing heavy armor and/or weapons (e.g. power armor and a fat man) will slow down your walking speed, even if you aren't over the weight limit. Any truth to that?
If the armor has an Agility penalty built into it (enclave armor for instance) it will slow you down. The heavy weapons will slow you down when you are using them because they are heavy.Kingclyde 00:45, 1 May 2009 (UTC)kingclyde
Using power armour for increased weight capacity is not a good idea. Max amount of weight you can add is +20 (+ 2 ST bonus) but the armour weighs 45 so a -25 lb capacity. Although if you were 'already' carrying it, then i guess it would make sense
other games[]
this entire article is completely based on fallout 3. if there's another weight article for the other games then my mistake, but if not then i think this page should be edited.

Slow character[]
Has anybody had their character move slowly in Fallout 3, as if you had exceeded your carry weight even though your carry weight max is not exceeded or even close? How do I fix this? LepricahnsGold 21:55, December 5, 2009 (UTC)
To add to the info, I can still jump and fast travel. but can't run. If I jump while moving forward, I will run for one step, or so.

I have had this happem when I am barly carrying anything and I am not crippled. I have gone to the Dr for healing and unloaded any extra equipment and I am still slow. This usually happens just after I get injured in some way and the only fix I have is to go back to an earlier saved game.
If you're playing on PC there's a "walk" button, I think it's caps lock. It's easy to press by accident and makes you walk everywhere as if you're over-encumbered
it has been my expearence that when you are aproching your maxium weight status you will begun to walk slower.
Weight in pounds?[]
The article claims that weight is measured in pounds, but I don't recall any in-game or in-manual statement describing this to be true. That portion of the article should be revised so that it either no longer claims that weight is measured in pounds, or cites a valid source.
