I do not know if the double mention of the Missle Launcher is necessary. It seems to me to be better in the initial description than in the notes. Also, the number of Missles seems to vary. I am playing on the xBox on Hard and there were only 5 missles total. A total of 13 missles was originally stated in the notes. --Sp3lly 02:49, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

Accessing The Monument[]

The monument is initially locked and inaccessible. It could be helpful to mention how access is obtained.

I believe that access is (only) obtained by talking to Three Dog and starting the GNR quest, but I'm not absolutely sure of that. Perhaps someone who is sure could put this in. 75.36.6.163 14:57, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

No clip land!![]

I wrote alot so i put this here to incase it belongs on the talk page and they delete it.

Follow these directions, and you can actually walk through a no clipped wonderland. It is possible to approach the monument without encountering any super mutants, however, you cannot enter the monument. If you manage to get over the "impassible rubble" about north-northeast of Anacostia Crossing, countinue at a NE direction. If you get blocked, this is probably becuase you are inside a rock and the game has clipped a face you are walking towards. Walk out and around the rock, and countinue unil you see the end of buildings and a blank hill. Enter at the right side. From this point, the game has not clipped anything, and it will truly resemble a wasteland, as there will be no buildings, enemies, or even scenery, besides the Washington Monument. Eventually you wll reach the monument, and be able to actually walk through it. Only the structure itself is clipped, and the fences, BOS guards, and door will not be there.

If you dont believe me i have pictuees and will upload them shortly.

can anyone tell how to actually get in the place?[]

Im walking around the outside, and i come to the gate, with the computer. It says i need the key, or passcode or something to get in. How do i get this?

Woops, nevermind. I looked up, and saw someone pretty much asked the same thing and got an answer.

No one Here[]

There's No one here. And there's no super mutants in the mall at all. Nothing. :S. No monsters, no BOS guards, and this is the first time i've been here. there were a few vicious dogs at the entrancce, but nothing more.

edit: there are a small number of mutants near the capitol. That's it.

edit2: upon recovery of the satellite dish, i returned via fasttravel. whether it was because of the fasttravel or because i had the dish, brotherhood of steel guards appeared.

Totally lost: Spoke with 3Dog about the Dish[]

aaaaand this is one of the most annoying quests... I got stuck in that god forsaken hotel, near the hospital. I dont und3rstand the NOTE about the hotel and hospital doors.

I was in the hospital... moved my way over to the hotel, found the guys on the roof and on my way back down, couldnt find the fusion battery.

Can any one help me?

I started over because i was tired of dealing with the hotel. horrible quest if I dont say so my self...

I picked up the distress call AFTER i loaded a saved game. Two of them. Now I'm exploring other routs to the Washington monument. I followed the signs, "<-- GNR Outpost""Mall -->" or whatever it said and ended up side tracked in the hotel.

I Cant seen to find a subway that takes me to the Washington monument, and I'm concerned that the only way there is through the damn hotel.

Thanks for any help, apologies if this post is confusing.

Hatch in elevator[]

Has anyone ever managed to acess the loose tile in the roof of the Washington monument? I can't find anything to stand on so far. It is tantilizing to have an opening like this. It may be there just to allow the played to watch the accesnt but I hope there's more to it than that Papahbear 08:24, January 12, 2010 (UTC)

It is a static object. It is just for decoration. Vault 815 15:18, January 12, 2010 (UTC)

Undone vandalism[]

Some random idiot vandalized the page. Undid the vandalism (First edit on July 19) with a revert to the most recent July 7th version of the page. - Selkit —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.71.122.151 (talk • contribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

And I thought an hour was a long time for vandalism to go unnoticed. Good job! Kris (talk) 02:19, July 19, 2010 (UTC)

second monument[]

I found a second washington monument in the middle of the endless wasteland. you can get into the endless wasteland by a glitch in takoma park where you can get outside the map. but anyway, I found a second monument with no doors and you could walk all the way through it. Could this explain the glitch where you can see the monument, but no face it? Badbadger 19:20, September 27, 2010 (UTC)

Miles? I'm confuzzled.[]

"The Monument can be seen from high locations all around D.C. You can see it from 30 miles away."

I thought the map was a total of 16 square miles? How is the above possible? --With care and happiness, Supermutantslayer450' You will know the truth... And the truth will set you free.. 04:35, June 29, 2011 (UTC)

The security terminals[]

The security terminals outside the washington monument are misspelled as Secuity terminals. Should this be added into the notes?

It might not seem significant enough to some of you but in my opinion a wiki should do its best to provide all the info it can, whether relevant or not. AbashedAlbatross (talk) 14:37, August 26, 2017 (UTC)!

Washington Monument Steel Reinforcement[]

Labeled under "Notes" that the Washington Monument is lined with steel but the structure is purely marble(not counting the elevator shaft or misc. things) in real life, hinting a pre-war renovation. -ChillKindaGuy, 2024 May 11, 11:09 AM UTC
