Killed Vargas[]

I don't know how I managed it, but I think I actually killed Vargas in the GNR building, despite him supposedly being essential. I picked up the Lyon's Pride armor and everything. The only essential BoS character was some random Paladin (who I presume wouldn't have the LP armor). I'm on Xbox. --75.205.123.250 18:18, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

I did the same thing, I think he becomes killable right after you talk to 3 dog.74.61.98.91 12:35, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

Yea the same thing happened to me, except, the behemoth hit him into next year. He went flying, it was ridiculous. Because of this, i was unable to get liberty prime to move. I was able to fix it later though.

how did you fix it 99.226.25.152 05:01, October 9, 2009 (UTC)

Rewrote "Notes" entry[]

I tried to clarify the "Notes" paragraph a bit. Khim 07:32, October 29, 2009 (UTC)

Lyons pride armour[]

During "Take it back!" he just died on the bridge, do anyone know why? but atleast he saved me some ammo and Karma (if he didnt die i would have to kill him for the Armour)

Vargas dying on Take it back![]

On the article it says that he CAN die on Take it back, but however when I was playing it a car exploded near him,and the words Paladin Vargas is uncouncious appeared. Is the article wrong, perhaps?Oh,and I didnĀ“t skip any quests.

When I did take it back ,Vargas was knocked unconcious a few time, but when my brother played, vargas was killed... I skipped galaxy news radio and escape from paradise.~scapeplan

Does he have unique laser rifle?[]

I'm replaying with the Game of the Year edition and all 5 DLCs on, and he's definitely not carrying a standard AER9 laser rifle in the GNR lobby. First playthrough of the game was with the standard edition, with no DLCs, and while I never payed any particular attention to Vargas I didn't notice any special weapon either.

What he has now is similar to a laser rifle, but with subtle differences. It has the usual gun stock and the square barrel, but it does not have the small bar running underneath the barrel from the bottom of the lens to the trigger guard. Also, in place of the lens on the front there is a fin array that looks like a heatsink. It also looks seems to be skinned with a darker metal then the ones the other Lyon's Pride paladins are carrying.

Did he get new gear in one of the DLCs? I have a screen shot of it on ImageShack here: [1]

Heh. I don't know why it didn't occur to me before, but I just used VATS and targeted his weapon. It's a tri-beam laser. Now that I've got Broken Steel, he must be using the new weapons.

Still, I guess it's interesting that he's using the Broken Steel weapon this early in the game.

A reference to Wasteland?[]

Is Vargas' name a reference to the Wasteland character "Snake Vargas"? Roby31 06:45, May 30, 2010 (UTC)

Is he related to nathan and manya vargas?

There is No Way...[]

...That Paladin Vargas and Manny Vargas are brothers. You have to be born into the BoS from parents who were BoS themselves, and Manny is a former Great Khan who grew up in a slum. On top of which they live on opposite sides of the country. Since there is nothing in either FO3 or FNV that even remotely hints that they are brothers, or at all related in any way, that note should probably be either removed, or replaced with something akin to "There is no known relation to Manny Vargas, who lives in Novac and appears in Fallout: New Vegas"

There is indeed no way. Possibly distant cousins, but Paladin Vargas is from California. It's unlikely that they share a common post-War ancestor. --Kris User Hola 15:09, December 4, 2010 (UTC)

Actually, if you talk to Veronica in New Vegas, she says that if you are born into the BoS you can leave at any time, and the Elder says that there is very rarely an occurrence in which a special case citizen is ACCEPTED into the Brotherhood. (Anonymous)
