Which enemies block?[]

Are human enemies the only ones that will throw up a block? Or will other creatures such as the rad scorpion and deathclaw block as well?Drmuffinz 03:27, December 17, 2010 (UTC)

Just humanoids (nightkin) and humans will block. Animals and insects don't. Medeasin 19:46, June 13, 2011 (UTC)

What about Ghost People? --174.6.51.17 03:55, April 17, 2012 (UTC)

Ghost people do not block. In fact the only time this perk will see any real usefulness is if your're planning on fighting alot of Legion for some reason and MAYBE during the Honest Hearts add-on if you're adamant about using melee against the White Legs. Even then only about a fourth to a third of the enemies will actually use melee and they can usually be dealt with pretty easily even if they DO block occasionally, as long as you leave them for last. Overall this is a pretty worthless perk in my opinion.

Breaking Blocks[]

Does this cause the PC to break through an enemy block and follow through with the swing, or do you still recoil?--Xenemeous 06:58, January 28, 2011 (UTC)

You DO still recoil from the hit, at least on the Xbox 360 version. Depending on your preference in melee weapons that can make this perk significantly less useful. If you use fast, but weak-hitting weapons like the Katana or Combat Knife, this perk loses usefulness because while you can still get the damage of a single hit through an enemy block, the recoil will leave you stunned, drastically reducing your attack rate and this overall damage. If you use slower harder-hitting weapons like super sledges or bumper swords the recoil is less of an issue because you're not missing out on quite as many attacks during the "stun time" (which will more closely match your regular attack lag anyway).

With DR+DT Piercing[]

If you use chainsaw/ripper/industrial hand, would it mean you actually make shorter work of people who block? 202.169.235.105 08:38, November 10, 2014 (UTC)
