I'm guessing not. What I am guessing is that the characters The Dad and The Kid are references to The Man and The Boy from Cormac McCarthy's Pulitzer prize winning novel The Road. The names of the characters and the name of the DLC add up. --173.20.71.164 05:04, August 16, 2011 (UTC)
Yeah i believe that they are....and it is a fantastic book..very good...and the movie was good as well...so hopefully their characters are a good reference to this...and i am prolly guessing that the dad (SPOILERS!!!!!!!) will die just like in the book--John117Price 17:51, August 18, 2011 (UTC)

The Road... was that the movie with Viggo uh, whatever his last name is...the guy from those ring movies or whatever (my attempt at pretending to be an idiot), the post-apocalyptic movie? (which was..ok, i wanted to see at least one super mutant..but there were only people.. when are they making Fallout the movie anyways?? and if they did hollywood would f it up..but i digress), is that what we're all talking about THE ROAD book/movie? if its not then, i really am an idiot! --DrunkenSushi 10:36, August 28, 2011 (UTC)

I think that if there is any (unique or normal) revolver that there should be only 1 bullet in the dads inventory and then 5 fake bullets because in the book he only has 1 bullet for it and he makes 5 fake ones too make it look loaded. then if you kill the man the boy should commit suicide like how the father told the son to do in the book. if they do that i will love the guy who made that for ever. then like the movie the guy the son meets should look like carrot top =DXXHISselfXx
