In regards to experience...[]

I killed Mr. House today, and the quest was started and instantly failed, and I got the 505 experience points even before it was 'accepted'. This means that, at least in PS3, it killing house what gives you the experience. However, in the quest section of the Pip-boy, the quest appears faded and the objective "ticked" as if it was completed; I think this is the source of the confusion. I'd like to discuss this with users of other platforms before editing, however.--DrMGinius 19:33, November 2, 2010 (UTC)

Same behavior on PC, except that I can't verify XP gain since I'm at level 30.--GryphonQ 03:39, November 6, 2010 (UTC)

On the 360, the Exp gain is tied to killing Mr. House. I killed him not 30 seconds ago, and the +505 Exp was given before I even received the quest... which failed immediately after, btw. The quest is faded and the objective is "ticked" just like on the other platforms. 99.8.150.11 04:13, January 1, 2011 (UTC)

Forgot to mention, I killed house BEFORE I turned over the Platinum Chip. I don't know if that makes any difference or not. 99.8.150.11 04:24, January 1, 2011 (UTC)

what's the point?[]

why have a quest that triggers then fails?--65.27.167.139 15:43, November 8, 2010 (UTC)

I can't tell what this is about. On the 360 I actually kept reloading my save to try to find a way to not fail the quest and I succeeded once by not "killing" him but by pitting him into stasis, but the result was I didn't get any experience. If you're going to kill House, really kill him don't just leave him in a stasis. At least you'll get some experience out of the deal besides the karma loss.

It's because when you kill him all the other future quests are gone, unless you decide to work with Mr. House, it appears that the "The House Always Wins, II" quest is faded but not checked off.

-The quest is autofailed everytime. It also depends on how far you are into "The House Always Wins," and if you has met with Caesar yet. I was going to work with Mr. House, until he told me to kill the Brotherhood Of Steel. Then, I was like, "No, fuck you. Yes Man is in charge now!"
