Repair[]

what can you repair the armor with?? 20:42, 12 November 2008 (UTC) Drinky1989

Other Tesla Armor. No other power armors will work. RandomInterrupt 14:27, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

Given the Tesla Armour Backpack is very clearly a test item not intended to be used in the game, is it really accurate to say that the Tesla Armor is comprised of three parts? 207.216.50.68 00:11, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

should we note that NPCs don't seem to notice the floating glow spots on you back whilst wearing this with a stealth bow (back still glows when using stealth boy)

Tesla Power Pack Notes[]

Anyone care to list the 3 other special armors you can add on over the normal armor?

Is it really spelled Armour? (The additem gives you a Tesla armor...?) And does anyone know how to get the backpack?

  • Mirar 18:43, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

Seems that it is just a test item. I advise to read the discussion on Bethesda forum about it.

Mirar, no, but it's how it should be spelled. ;) You can get it from downed Tesla soldiers, however you will not know if you've actually looted it from them unless you try it on as it has the exact same name as the standard Tesla "armor" :p unless you mod your game to label it differently so you know when you have the opportunity to loot it.Angel Silhouette 03:56, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

-Well, it should be spelled like that if you're a brit :-D. If you spell tire "tyre", and say "petrol" instead of gas, you'll get it. Lol. Fourthgeartapped 20:30, 11 December 2008 (UTC) -Brit, as in the originators of the language...and tire = to become exhasted, tyre = goes on a wheel

One time I could've SWORN that I saw a Enclave tesla trooper (what i call them) wearing a T-51b version of tesla armour during vats. same color as tesla had shocky stuff on it but the armour was a little different chest looked like T-51b armor and the helmet looked a little different and i think the rest of the armor also looked T-51bish does anyone have anymore info about this if so PLEASE post i saw it on one of the 2 tesla troopers at the end of RavenRock.

I have seen the same kind of thing. I don't know if it was t-51, but it was something weird. I can't quite describe the armor, but it definitely wasn't enclave or bos. I was at a lower level without AP(reloading) and he ran away while I was hurt so I never actually got to see what it was. Reflect 07:26, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
could it have been hellfire armor? 'cause thats what it sounds like--87.177.34.45 20:20, October 24, 2009 (UTC)

Can anyone not on PC confirm they have the power pack? And how do you know if you have one? Is the pip-boy image different?68.192.9.90 22:25, September 12, 2009 (UTC)

location?[]

where can you find this? is it on the main game or is it from an expansion pack?

Its appearance is a glitch and apparently random. If your ever looting a enclave corpse and they have two sets of Telsa Power Armor one may be the armor pack.

I Actually have Tesla Armor. I found it when i was leaving Raven Rock. I was fighting two Enclave that had the armor on. I killed them with the Lincoln's Repeater and searched their body. I found the Tesla armor, and since i had 100 repair, i repaired them together. The only problem is, i cant find another type of Tesla armor to repair mine with, and i dont want to waste 800 caps to get it up to half.... :(

Tesla Armor can be aquired in a random encounter with an Enclave Soldier outside of Dukov's Place, close to the entrance of the Tepid Sewers (confirmed PS3). Also, fast traveling to Rockbreaker's Last Gas almost always leads to an encounter with an Enclave Soldier (It is not necessary that one has completed or even initiated the Waters of Life mission for this to occur), and enough attempts might eventually yield an encounter with a soldier equipped with Tesla Power Armor (though this is speculation, so far i've only encountered soldiers with Hellfire Armor and Power Armor here).

well answering the question actully asked, it's in the main game, it's commonly found at higher levels and some deffinete sets are found south of Arlington libary. - RASICTalk 23:23, November 24, 2009 (UTC)

You can also use the console to have the Tesla Power Unit : player.additem 0008f571 1 213.245.47.216 22:27, February 7, 2014 (UTC)

You can find the Tesla Armor in the Weapons Lab in Mothership Zeta dlc. On top of a table next to Combat Armor and other items.Such as a Gatling Laser.

Plugs[]

The normal Tesla Armor has a socket on the chest that looks like the pipe fits in there.

Here's a trick o get some Tesla armor (again and again and again...) to fix another one: Go outside Dukov's place (fast travel), the first time you get there, there's a party of 2 enclave soldiers, an enclave officer, a deathclaw and 2 mirelurk hunters. One of the soldiers has the tesla armor. I did this till I get the full condition of the tesla (fixing it), and waiting 3 days inside Dukov's place (he's russian, and has good vodka!!).Pedro.--190.164.100.210 05:29, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

So?[]

Where is it? if they have footage it must be in-game so? where can you get it? Onikage01 14:51, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

On Enclave Troopers you Dingbat!! It aint unique its just rarer!!

Door[]

""Another 360 user ran into the room, shot missiles, and ran out repeatedly and said he fought two Tesla armored Enclave members on the ground floor, and the one above disappeared, but before he could check the back room he died, therefore did not know if the door was opened, or if they just spawned. ""

For xbox, the door doesn't open, if it does it must not have an animation sequence, they spawn directly in front of the door (as if they passed through it) then come running out of the little back room to attack you. Ash Nuke AshRandom (Talk) 13:42, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

Not a test item, not necessarily a glitch[]

This item is not a glitch or test item; badly designed/implemented, maybe, but it's essential to make the Tesla Armor work like it does. Without this item, the Tesla Armor wouldn't have those lightning arcs when you equip it. The only model attached to it is the arcs of lightning. The reason for the "glitchy" behavior is simple. The player was not meant to interact with this item. It defaults to the equip list of normal Enclave Armor, so you get the EA backpack when you equip it as a separate item. It also does not have a world model. The equip list, is a list of add-ons applied to most armor (but specifically to all power armor). It provides the backpacks, gloves, and decals. If you use the "showinventory" command on the pc, you can see the add-on items in the list just below the armor they're attached to. The Tesla armor equip list has the following items:

  • PowerArmorTeslaBackPack - provides the blue backpack model to the back of the Tesla Armor.
  • ArmorTeslaPowerFX - This is the "Power Pack", it actually adds the lightning effect.
  • EnclavePowerArmorGloveR - this would be the glove on your right hand.
  • EnclavePowerArmorGloveL - and, the left one.

The issue comes from where they put this. Add-ons are supposed to be placed in the "ARMA" ("ARMor Add-on") category, instead they put this in the "ARMO" (ARMOr) category. This conceivably could confuse the game in rare instances into adding it into your inventory as a separate item (or into the enemy's inventory). I don't suggest removing it, since we can still provide important information, but it will need to be overhauled.Fiddlesoup 02:40, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

"only appears in FO3"?[]

I could swear to god there's something similar in FO2, am I nuts? or remembering incorrectly? If I recall there's some item of metal armor in FO2 with insane energy DR and a sparking effect appearance, have I finally lost it? 69.210.38.252 23:02, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

Edit: AHA! found it Tesla metal armor editing the article to include this as I find it odd that the article for TMA says "appears in every fallout game" but Tesla Power Armor says "Only appears in FO3"

Removed[]

Removed the following paragraphs from this article, as they don't really relate directly to the subject.

  • "Want a hint on how to locate Enclave troops? Well this is very helpful especially at night because of how the Enclave's "mini" bases are set up. If you notice, there will be a light emitted from an antenna that seems to glow spontaneously. That light is actually a satellite they use to confirm messages from other bases and is also their form of communication as well. If your randomly running throughout the Wastes and happen to come across a glowing light or two, you might want to crouch into hidden mode to avoid unnecessary conflict with Enclave troops (depending on where you're at there maybe 2-6 troops [including Enclave Death Claws]) unless you've planned out your attack and are ready for battle. Oh and if you hear a chopper or see one its way, you might want to get into some cover its going to be Enclave reinforcements so I advise you to keep your eyes and ears open."
  • "We also highly recommend that you have a repair skill of 100 so that you may be able to fight in "full-effect" with this armor as well as benefit in many other ways. You will also be able to sustain battle at a much longer rate and if you need a some cash (bottlecaps), you can repair armor and weapons and sell them for 999 caps or more (wow that's a lot of caps. This refers to Enclave equipment majority of the time and if the items are repaired to 100%). My advice is that you initially "prep-up" this skill to your other desireable skills so that way you aren't running around the Wastes as a broke mercenary scavenging through nuka-cola bottles and drinking irradiated water sources to heal yourself although to some, it is the best decision they can make."

Preserving them here because they might still be useful hints. Elanorea 17:36, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

Locations moved from article[]

  • Three Enclave soldiers equipped with Tesla Armor (and Plasma rifles) will appear in the parking lot south of Alexandria Arms after completing "The Waters of Life". The first time they appear, they will be transported to the location by a Vertibird, but they will simply respawn in place after the initial encounter.
  • Three Enclave soldiers, one with Tesla Power Armor, can be found at an outpost on the other half of the broken overpass behind Arefu. There is a possibility that the Enclave soldier wearing the Tesla Armor is friendly.
  • During the quest "Take it Back!", some Tesla Armor can be found on the corpses of dead Enclave soldiers
  • You may also find Tesla armor on fleeing Enclave Soldiers running away from Raven Rock after you destroy it, come back in a few days and there will still be people there.
  • During the quest "The Waters of Life", in the second section of the Taft Tunnel, there are a pair of Enclave soldiers with Tesla Armor on a balcony, just after you are stopped to deal with Garza. If you have the Bloody Mess perk, you may be able to loot the armor from a body part that falls from the balcony after killing them with a headshot. If body parts fail to fall from the balcony, you might be able to use a Frag Grenade to blast some parts down. You can also pick up a barrel and jump onto the lamp, then across some girders and onto the balcony. Using this method you can get 4 sets of Tesla Armor, 3 Laser rifles and a Plasma rifle.
  • After completing "The Waters of Life" quest you can find two Enclave soldiers, one of whom is equipped with Tesla Armor, as well as an Enclave Scientist and two auto turrets located near the Super-Duper Mart at the abandoned house with the silo.

--Kingclyde 22:25, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

  • Four Enclave soldiers with Tesla Armor will drop out of a Vertibird as you walk towards the chain link fence across from the Arlington Library. The Enclave soldiers will also be carrying Plasma Rifles, as well as a bit fo ammo for them from each soldier.

Tesla Armor in Mothership Zeta[]

I found Tesla Armor in the MZ add-on. It is found somewhere near the end of the add-on.

I also found my Tesla Armor during my play through of the Mothership Zeta addon.

I found Tesla Armor in the Weapons Lab in Mothership Zeta in the room with all of the guns and ammo.

I also found this and found the Tesla Helmet in the Cargo Hold.

Other effects of Tesla Helmet[]

Is it worth mentioning on the main page that equipping the Tesla Helmet gives -2 Barter and -2 Speech? --AEtherchild 04:25, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

No, because that comes from the -1 Charisma. SuSpence95 (Talk) 04:50, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

rumor[]

Do not add this to the article unless it has been confirmed by multiple editors and has been grammatically repaired. Thanks!

Rumor has it the item can be acquired on PS3 and Xbox 360 as a "glitched" item - whereas a soldier who is wearing Tesla Armor might have it equipped. The most prevalent rumor of it's location would be in the Taft Tunnels; specifically in the room next to the Overflow Controls where the Enclave are all on an elevated platform raining down fire on you. It is believed one of the Tesla Soldiers up top would have the pack.

There are four ways to access these dead soldiers:

  • The first method is to try and decapitate/blow off a limb in combat and hope it lands in a reachable place, preferably on the ground nearby to you.
  • The second method (And the the hardest) would be to continue down the tunnels towards where the Ghouls are located and take a few of the 55 Gallon Drums (Barrels) and bring them back into the room. Using some ingenious barrel stacking you can reach the top, check the corpses and explore a little. Up top there is a ladder that has no apparent use (Other than being able to swap it from 'Open' to 'Close') and a door which leads to the upper level of the seconds section, where a few Enclave Soldiers are situated. They are marked Hostile yet will not fire on you immediately, and will even respond to interaction made with them.
  • The third is a room further on in the next section with a metal staircase, as you enter those same two non-agressive enclave soldiers attack you from behind on a raised platform. Kill them, then use the 3 barrels in this room, use 2 of them too get up on top of the lamps in this room, now if you placed the 3rd barrel standing up on the lamp's generator you can pick it up and place it on the I-Beam above you. Now jump up onto that beam and cross over closer to the platform, grab the barrel and place it on its side ontop of the beam closest to the platform, now jump up carfully onto the barrel and then jump up and over the fence and your there. This area will link to the other area as well.
  • The fourth (And by far easiest if you are prepared) is to simply use explosives to break apart the dead bodies and blow the limbs to a reachable place. A few well placed Frag Grenades or well angled Missiles will do the trick. If you were lucky enough to stumble upon an Enclave Officer with Plasma Grenades beforehand they will help alot. Keep in mind those thin fences act as if solid.

A hint for if you are over-encumbered and wish to check for the Tesla Power Pack at a different time:

The corpses of the Enclave Soldiers disappear upon speaking with Elder Lyons in the Citadel. If you loot the Enclave Soldiers of all of their possessions, however, the corpses will remain. Dropped items will also remain. That said, if you want to come back and check the armor/collect it for sale it is recommended you loot the Soldiers of all of their possessions and drop them on the ground. This includes weapons dropped by the Enclave upon death - those will disappear unless picked up and re-dropped. You cannot re-enter the sewers after leaving them for the first time; and even though the entrance in the purifier;says it takes a key, there are no keys to be found on any of the associated characters bodies. As well as being able to enter the rest of the sewers from the metal door in the now accessible room just outside of the Citadel. Although, the armor can only be obtained by the Enclave soldiers wearing Tesla armor on top of the balcony in the last room that you encounter Enclave before getting to the Citadel, and the door that would be assumed to enter into the area leading to the top is inaccessible, but it is very rare to do so in any case. --Kingclyde 17:40, September 25, 2009 (UTC)

Sneaking?[]

My current character is big on sneaking. He has a sneak skill of 100. I am trying to decide what I should do about armor. Currently, I havn't advanced enough in the main quest to train in power armor, and I have instead been using Combat Armor and avoiding Metal Armor despite its higher DR because of its -1 Agility and the fact that I can't keep my eyewear with the metal helmet, thus reducing my head's damage reduction from 6 to 5, assuming I could even find enough metal armor pieces to keep it fully repaired like I can the combat armor. I can't decide whether or not I should even use power armor if I want to keep my sneak skill. The Tesla Armor doesn't have the -AGI debuff, but there was a note in the main article that says the lights on the shoulderpads make it hard to sneak. Has this been confirmed as true? If so, I'd like some suggestions from other users as to what they think a sneak character should do for endgame armor. Thanks in advance. --98.180.4.125 21:46, October 8, 2009 (UTC)

Chinese stealth armor (Fallout 3) is the best. Tesla Armor and Enclave Hellfire armor don't reduce AG, so you should be set. The lights make no difference in sneaking. Nitty 21:53, October 8, 2009 (UTC)
I should have mentioned that I don't have the DLC because I refuse to pay for them. So, I don't have acess to the Chinese Stealth Suit or the Hellfire Armor. So then if the lights on the Tesla Armor don't really impede your ability to sneak, why is it in the main article? Shouldn't it be removed? --98.180.4.125 22:13, October 8, 2009 (UTC)
Ranger battle armor adds agility which will increase sneak, if not that then either combat armors or recon armor which is a bit weaker but adds to sneak. These are weaker than power armor but since you're sneaking you don't really need a very high dr.Setimir92 18:30, October 22, 2009 (UTC)
as long as you have the silent running perk the armor you wear doesn't have an impact on sneak, so long as it doesn't have a -ag, even so the most you will ever lose from power armor is -2 agility, or -4 sneak.Aryeonos 11:43, October 29, 2009 (UTC)

Night Vision?[]

It may just be one of the mods I have on, but when I turn the pip-boy light on while wearing the Tesla Helmet I have night vision (everything's green and well-lit). If not a mod, then it might be worth mentioning in the article.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Darktangent (talk • contribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

It's a mod. -- Porter21 (talk) 22:01, October 9, 2009 (UTC)

Devil Suits?[]

I found this line in the article

  • "The Tesla Power Armor is also known as "Devil Suits" to some of the Brotherhood of Steel members, most likely due to the 'Ears' or 'Horns' on the top of the Helmet."

in what instance is it referred to as a devil suit? I've personally never encountered this, can I get some clear evidence or an instance of this happening.Aryeonos 11:47, October 29, 2009 (UTC)

I think Scribe Peabody says something about "black devil power armor" when talking about tweeking the BoS laser weapons. --MadCat221 16:54, October 29, 2009 (UTC)

armour inventory glitch[]

refering to the glitch that says aslong as you have a second suit of tesla armour in your inventory and the one you are wearing is fully repaired, any one have any proof it works on 360 as i have tried this with a suit at 100% being worn and another suit in my inventory being around 40% and it has not worked anyone know?????? J!MMY8806

Armor Inventory Glitch[]

yeah I just tried it, doesn't work for 360. Does it only work for PC or PS3?

Child Version[]

Multiple places on the wiki it says that Tesla armor can be reverse-pickpocketed onto a child and it will shrink to fit this. Pics or it didn't happen? Thecairocat 21:16, July 15, 2010 (UTC)

Yes, specifically the residents of Little Lamplight. Nukey (talk) (blog) 21:20, July 15, 2010 (UTC)

This applies to all apparel and is not specific to any one type.Sgt wikia 19:26, August 3, 2010 (UTC)

Power Armor is unique in that it doesn't have a gender-specific version. It's for this reason that it also looks fine on children, because it hides the body under a thick layer of armor, whereas other armors such as combat armor would show the body as that of an adult instead of a child; there's no child-specific meshes like there are for genders, so an armor item intended for an adult will make a child look like a tiny adult, and a child armor will make an adult look like an adult-sized child. As for headgear, unless it replaces the head (such as with Power Armor helmets) then adult hats will clip through the head on a child, and child hats will hover above and around an adults head. Kris (talk) 20:30, August 3, 2010 (UTC)

Any difference between the standard Enclave helmet and Tesla helmet?[]

They have identical stats and can only be repaired with identically named items (enclave with enclave, tesla with tesla), but is there any graphical difference?

Yes the tesla helmet appears to be more scratched and worn than a normal helmet but is only noticiable if look closly at both.Sgt wikia 19:23, August 3, 2010 (UTC)

According to the game files, it's the same mesh (3d model) with an alternate texture applied. I'm gonna have to say that Sgt wikia is right about this. Kris (talk) 20:33, August 3, 2010 (UTC)
