adds weight?[]

the article says it adds weight to your inventory.

is it less than 1 unit of weight or something?

im sitting here at the doctor with one of my saves and my weight amount doesnt change with or without the implant.

im going to say the article is just wrong.

i mean seriously, ive been taking armor on and off, throwing items on the ground, and whatever else and my weight is sitting at 54 with and without the implant.

if it adds weight it is less than 1 unit, and thats hardly worth mentioning.

You should check how much lead you have. Lead has weight but very miniscule. If enough lead is accumulated then that would be the reason for the extra weight.

Deathclaws[]

The article says this helps against Deathclaws, but as far as I know, they ignore all armor. --Chris616263 00:15, December 21, 2010 (UTC)

No, on Fallout 1 and 2, deathclaw attacks ignored DR from anything, including armor and perks. But on Fallout 3 and NV, the developers made deathclaws deal outrageous amounts of damage instead of giving them a defense ignoring attack. 184.56.90.168 14:39, May 15, 2014 (UTC)

Is this perk bugged?[]

The actual benefit of this perk should be verified, because I seem to have discovered a bug on PC: while the Pip-boy Damage Threshold section displays a value of "4" (when no armor or clothing equipped), the console command "player.getav DamageThreshold" shows a value of "0". And I didn't notice any marked improvement out of this perk during combat so far. That's why I'm wondering whether this perk is bugged. C0Rb3N 21:03, February 7, 2011 (UTC)

I have also noticed a problem with this perk on PC. When I remove all my armor, my damage threshold is only showing up as 2 in Pip-boy. But with the sub-dermal implant, surely it should be at least 4? When I tried the console command you mentioned and got the same value of 0 despite having the implant.
I forgot, I must have chosen the kamikaze trait at the beginning of the game, which makes your DT -2. However, even though pip-boy shows DT as -2 when you start the game with that trait, the console command to get your DamageThreshold still shows 0, so there must be a way of modifying DT without affecting the DamageThreshold stat. That might explain why sub-dermal armor doesn't affect that stat, maybe it is added separately, as with the Kamikaze trait?

The player.getav DamageThreshold only appears to show DT gained by clothing, my combat armour has a DT of 12, removing it and requesting the value again gets me a value of 0. The pip-boy display on the other hand shows my true combined value 13 natural + 12 clothing. I have big brained, enforced spine, two lots of toughness and the implant. Is there a chem than increased DT? Could that be throwing things off?

-Reply: It's neither registering the DT of Dermal Armor nor Kamakazi, because they are perks and thus apply their effects last. When you get your player's DT with the console, it only checks your DT BEFORe the effects of perks. That's why neither shows up. (sorry, I don't have an account)

Reference to motorcycle/off-roading gloves?[]

Anyone else think that that reference doesn't really belong in the Behind the Scenes section? The Captain (radio) 06:54, March 14, 2011 (UTC)

I don't particularly think so either, but whatever. Great Mara 07:12, March 14, 2011 (UTC)

"This implant does not affect your HP, only the player character's DT. "[]

Is this note really necessary? Of course it doesn't affect your HP, nor does it say that it does in game. 206.251.12.59 01:50, June 19, 2014 (UTC)
