Name referance?[]

Could his name be a reference to Corpal Max Sterling from Robotech? --95.114.148.85 12:03, August 8, 2012 (UTC)

I doubt it; an old black man with a mustache probably wasn't inspired by a young clean-shaven Asian guy with blue hair. The name is purely coincidental: Sterling is currently ranked the 1333^rd most common name in the United States and corporal is a pretty common military rank. --Kastera ^(talk) 18:37, August 8, 2012 (UTC)

Caught near Malpais - caught by the Malpais Legate?[]

Could it be that he actually isn't talking about a place, but about a person, specifically the Malpais Legate (Graham)? Maybe the trauma from the experience altered his memory somehow? The reason I'm asking about all this is that I can't find the Malpais place anywhere in the MW. 62.240.166.130 19:09, December 3, 2014 (UTC)
