Ammo?[]

It has an ammo count, while it is a recharger pistol, doesn't that sound strange to anyone? RogierWV 07:34, October 18, 2010 (UTC)

It always has a number on the right side. The recharger rifle reads 7/7 when fully charged, and retains that number at the side. Mediocrity Goggles 07:40, October 18, 2010 (UTC)

Aiming with sights.[]

Perhaps this can go in the bug section. I have the 360 version and when I aim down the sights, the gun appears to be aimed slightly up and to the left, blocking the view with the glowing tube. The shots still go where they're supposed to. Hatchet 24.16.130.18 16:57, October 25, 2010 (UTC)

Ditto, here's hoping it's patched soon or there's a mod fix on the Nexus Ohdeartheciaisinmyhead 08:02, October 27, 2010 (UTC)

This issue also exists on the PC. I simply dont use the sights because of that. Not that I needed very accurate shots out of the thing anyways...Arggme 04:54, March 23, 2011 (UTC)

There's a user-created fix that resolves this, although there's no light-up animation for the light bulbs on the side; you'd have to use Blender or something like that to edit the animations if you're really that much of a stickler for perfection. Bottletopman 07:37, June 25, 2011 (UTC)

This should go to notes instead of bugs, misalligned iron sights can be a problem in RL as well and no one will call them bugs.

But this isn't real life; it's a game. As such, one would expect the sights to align where the shots should go. If the sights are off on every single pistol, it's a bug. --Kastera (talk) 20:17, December 29, 2012 (UTC)

Recharge Rate[]

would be nice if someone could check the geck to find out the charge rate--Silverfox6000 09:52, October 26, 2010 (UTC)

Finding More?[]

Anybody know where more are, or could someone check the GECK to see if the guy at Crimson Caravan Company can definetely stock it? I waited over two hours to see if the guy at the Crimson Caravan Company would stock one, and he didn't. Then I killed the people inside Silver Rush, took the pistol there, and then lost it when I had ED-E upgraded. I'd be grateful if someone could say where another is... And incase anyone asks, I only want it as I plan to have one of every weapon on this save. AR700SAW 16:27, October 27, 2010 (UTC)

Try Silver Rush or Goodsprings--Silverfox6000 19:27, October 29, 2010 (UTC)

Ok thank you, I already wiped out Silver Rush so I'll try Goodsprings. If I find one I'll update the main page too AR700SAW 21:50, October 29, 2010 (UTC)

Good to see that im not the only one stocking up on weapons and clothing,i wouldnt go as far too wipe out a whole store though...Ragedaoneanlonely 12:22, November 1, 2010 (UTC)

Its not that hard to get this pistol, just find bright brotherhood corpses like in the goodsprings cave, on the trail to repconn testsite and inside it, in a crevice on the road to sloan and etc. To make sure and get the energy weapon you want simply save outside goodsprings cave or repconn testsite and reload as many times as needed in order to get the weapons you want, as long as its your first time going to those places this will work..

I was digging around in Goodsprings Cave once and one of the corpses had it on them. Lucky me, it really helped me during the early game. I've never seen it again in the cave though. Must be rare.

Is it considered a laser weapon?[]

Lots of perks giving bonuses to laser weapons. Is it a laser? --SkyHiRider 19:27, November 3, 2010 (UTC)

No. --Kris User Hola 19:33, November 3, 2010 (UTC)
Sad:( Still fires read beams of doom thou, seems pretty laser like to me, bah. --SkyHiRider 21:13, November 3, 2010 (UTC)

Are you serious?! it shoots what looks like a laser!...i really hope it's just a bug that they will patch--Silverfox6000 01:47, November 4, 2010 (UTC)

Something strange going on here...[]

Is it just me or does it seem like the stats on the Recharger Pistol and Rifle are reversed? If the data on this site is accurate, the pistol has a 20 round clip and does more damage per shot, shoots faster and more accurately than the rifle which has a 7 round clip? Is there a lore reason for this like the rifle being an obsolete antique or something? Cause otherwise the stats make absolutely no sense this way and should definitely be reversed.

i found it strange too--Silverfox6000 04:27, November 20, 2010 (UTC)

I think I remember something from the comics, i dont remember very well so dont quote me, that the rifle was supposed to have came first, a prototype, and then along came the pistol, and then the great war.Arggme 04:56, March 23, 2011 (UTC)

RCW recycler.[]

Where did the information about being able to mod this weapon with the RCW recycler came from, as it seems a bit strange.

Gameplay. Mictlantecuhtli 06:53, December 1, 2010 (UTC)

Tested it, and the RCW recycler can be modded to the weapon. I think the modding should be available to the recharger rifle as well, although you can't use it. Doesnt make much sense really.

Great weapon[]

The recharger pistol is a great weapon. With energy weapons skill of 22, I'm out there zapping cazadores with it. Well worth trying out one of these weapons. Snooldex 09:21, February 12, 2011 (UTC)

Is this really considered a bug?[]

The main page lists this under bugs:

  • PCPC Playstation 3Playstation 3Playstation 3 Xbox 360Xbox 360 Companions who are given this weapon will not properly utilize it, due to the fact that the weapon only generates ammunition when it is equiped. Once the ammo supply is temporarily exhausted companions will switch to another weapon, preventing the supply of ammunition from regenerating.

Is this really a bug? Wouldn't it make sense for them to switch to another weapon when one runs out of ammo? I know for certain that I'm not going to sand there getting attacked while I wait for some stupid weapon to recharge. ReapTheChaos 13:00, June 6, 2011 (UTC)

It's considered a bug mostly because companions will not use the breeder in the way is meant to, they use it as an actual single bullet of the weapon. As a result, they will fire one shot "like if" it was a laser rifle and you just provided 1 microfusion cell charge, then switch to a different weapon. The whole recharging effect seems to only happen when the courier is using the weapon. Non companion's NPC's seem to be able to use it regularly since they do not deplete ammo, so they will keep using the same microfusion breeder over and over (same effect as if you give them any weapon stronger than their default's, and just 1 bullet for it: they will keep shooting and shooting) June 16, 2011 (UTC)
