Book Sightings[]

I was traveling northwest of Fort Independence when I came upon a Scavenger in a destroyed house. He was seated next to a table that had Pre-War Book on it. Can anyone confirm this? I thought it was a random encounter but he has not moved from the house since then. Tallon05 March 19,2009 11:35

I've seen some north of the Charnell house, although it wasn't near Fort Independence. It had a Scavenger in a destroyed home, and in it were about 2-3 Pre-war books. It also had a Nuka-Cola Quantum. Learner4 15:16, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

2 Pound Book[]

Somehow, somewhere, I have acquired a Pre-war Book with a weight of 2. It has a book icon, not junk. I have it in a container with other non-junk, 1 wt Pre-war books, and it maintains a separate listing. But the really weird thing is that I just moved it into my inventory (intending to drop it and get some info on it through console commands) and it turned into a 1 wt book. Moving it immediately back into the container made it join the other 1 wt books. I didn't save, so it's back to being 2 wt in the container.

Since I can't remove it from the container without changing it to a 1 wt book like all the others, is there any way I can get info about it?

3 Pre-War books in PL Lighthous?[]

I'm pretty sure I found not 2 but 3 Pre-War books in the Point Lookout Lighthouse. 2 on the desk and 1 on the floor on the right of the same desk. Can anyone confirm this?

111 or 91 books?[]

Main article says 111 books. the links show 91. I have not gone through all the add-ins, but I have only found those 91 so far.

Where are the other 20? Is it PC only (I have XBOX)

Fake books pass muster?[]

Will Scribe Yearling accept the "fake" Pre-War books? or does she refuse them and scold you? Wunengzi 09:59, August 20, 2010 (UTC)

No, that's pretty much the definition of what makes them fake. Kris mailbox 11:22, August 20, 2010 (UTC)

new vegas[]

is there any use for these in new vegas or am i just cluttering up my backback with em?

I've not found any use for them, they are also so common it's unlikely they are for a quest. Mictlantecuhtli 09:43, October 24, 2010 (UTC)

Fake book locations?[]

For home decoration purposes I always try to get my hands on everything which can be considered rare. Although the fake pre-war books may be obtained from merchants I'd still like to find those scattered in the wastes. Does anyone have a list of their locations, including add-ons (playing on PS3, so no GECK for me)? Forgetful 10:47, March 30, 2011 (UTC)

Vault 3

Arlington Public Library[]

Using the 1.7patch GOTY (with all add-ons enabled) and the Unofficial Fallout 3 patch from falloutnexus (which I don't think adds books), I found 13 books in the Arlington Public Library. I don't remember exactly where I found them though.

Listed count vs. GECK count[]

I omitted from the count the books in the Vault 101 demo cell. Therefore the GECK will list more books than are shown here.
