Does the river become pure/slowly pure after Broken Steel or is it that the basin only is pure? 90.209.79.152 20:16, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

Unfortuantly it's only the tidal basin that becomes pure. On the somewhat cool side, though, it now spawn mirelurks with extremely low health. -DragonJTSLeave me a message 20:27, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

Yep,and it's kinda funny to shoot an armoured hunt a few tiems with a chinese pistol and watch him die because of hs low health,id use a better weapon thatsnow became overkill Werewolfhell 14:51, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

wait, river potomac? not potomac river? wats that all about?Katikar 19:12, February 12, 2010 (UTC)

"Controversial to the bottling of Aqua Pura and to reports all across the wasteland of free purified water from the river, the Potomac River is still irradiated, even right in front of the purifier. This is likely a programming oversight." -> from Dr. Li's quote, "The plan was to build a facility that could purify all the water in the Tidal Basin at once. No radiation, no muck, just clean water." It was never intended to clear ALL of potomac at once. I don't think it is programming oversight. BS does change tidal basin water to non-irradiated purified water.

Or am I missing some parts or understanding incorrectly? Kasugurami 18:23, January 19, 2011 (UTC)

River getting lower?[]

I noticed that the river seems to have gotten lower since the Great War. Many parts of the river are no longer connected. I think it is because of either rubble blocked the river or the heat is evaporating it up.

this actualy raises an important question: wear does all of the moisture go? i mean, its always hot, dry and never rains, the water cant stay their forever, it has to fall sometime, so when?Katikar 20:28, May 29, 2010 (UTC)

Bethesda games always have some big potholes we have to guess about. Maybe the nuclear war made the sky so hot, the water turns to steam or smoke. Just guessing.

Bethesda games? you are aware the fallout series, and thus this conundrum, was created by black isles right? a compleatly different game company? and further more, what do you hink clouds are made of? fairy dust? ot already is steam, and their's no way it left the atmospher, so we still have our question unanswered, and like I said, in this case, the plot hole falls on black islesKatikar 05:16, June 4, 2010 (UTC)

Good point, I totally forgot about Black Isle!

Maybe the nulear weapons caused something like in the Matrix, putting a sheet of some sort just under the clouds.

It went the same place the water in the Sahara goes when it rains. The loose, dusty soil (devoid of plant life) is very poor at holding water, and hence it will tend to soak right through and form aquifers over a long period of time. They can get water in the Sahara from pumping it up from deep beneath the ground. The Great War was a very short time ago geologically, so it's probably not much of an aquifer to speak of, but it does explain why the total amount of water seems to have decreased. There still seems to be radiation...[]

It's wierd. I've just done the project purity quest and I've got broken steel. I checked the basin, and it's still irradiated - is that a bug? I've decided to add it to the bug list on the River Potomac (someone check it incase I've messed up somewhere) What's stranger is that the stressed out scribe in the Memorial seems to be aware of this.

Any help?
